What TV shows are you currently watching?

Stranger Things S4: 9-10. Finally got around to this one. Pretty good season they have a good knack on giving nods to all things 80's horror. Nice to see one to F. Paul Wilson's esthetic on his adversary cycle series. They are keeping up with the great score... Fuck they keep on killing the best characters...

But with S5 due in 2025 the 'kids' will look like 30+ year olds by then at this rate... its gonna start to look weird. -1 for the screen to black/transition drama gimmick. With eps as long as a movie it got a little long in the tooth.

I think I might don my eyepatch ;)* and give Silo a try.

Am on ep 7 of 10 of Silo you'll need both eyes. Love the claustrophobic microcosm of humanity setting, a bit like Snowpiercer. Well written and good cast and productions values.

Blue Eye Samurai - Animation is good but not a big fan of the style. Lots of nudity and there is genital parity here as well as some sex scenes! Sulu's bass is there when it's really needed but yeah he sounds old otherwise. Hiro basically plays the kinda characters he always has. Its a samurai show so you got that 1 vs 1000 thing going on as well as superhuman recoveries from some pretty serious injuries. Left itself open for another series.

Fall of the House of Usher. Not bad. Well written at times. It had an orgy!... and of social commentary...

For All Mankind is back on AppleTV

Finished the current season of The Morning Show and enjoyed it.
Finished Doom Patrol. Still a really bizarre and campy show, but enjoyed it.

Akuma-kun (Netflix) - Standard monster/mystery of the week anime. The underlying plot to keep everything tied together was barely there and the ending to that was a bit weak. Apparently the original manga creator was the same as GeGeGe No Kitaro so the character design and styles are almost the same.

Hilda final season (Netflix) - Shortened season with a movie length final episode. Going to miss the whimsy though the final season only had a lil of that due to the shortness. I didn't realize until watching the credits of the last episode that Lyanna Mormont/Ellie did the voice of Hilda the whole time! They at least gave most of the major characters of previous seasons a cameo at the end.

Pokemon Concierge (Netflix) - Very short 4 episode stop action with less than 20min in length on each. If you've watched Rilakkuma and Kaoru then they did this show as well. Not much to say since the whole thing is barely an hour long in total and each episode is its own short story. Just a sucker for stop action and I still need to watch the second Chicken Run movie!

For All Mankind, Silo, and Invasion.
I'm re-watching Flying Wild Alaska on my tablet whilst ellipticalizing every other night.
On the Youtube, I've been checking out Ali Saddiq comedy and Lost in the Pond a series of Brit/American comparisons by a cheeky fella who was born and raised in the UK and then transplanted to the US in his late 20's, iirc. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of mis-titled clickbait bullshit on YT but I've gotten a lot better at sniffing it out and avoiding.

Trek Strange New Worlds S2. Pretty good but....

Kirk ate poutine and Khan is Canadian hiding out in Toronto???... dang... and this is the Kelvin timeline of the OS so probably cannon and not just multiverse shenanigans. Damn.

Sonic Prime final season (3) (Netflix) - Fast paced though not a big fan of the main baddie this time around especially since we all know how it going to end. Was interesting to see alternate takes on your favorite Sonic universe heroes (and villains) from the earlier seasons but this last season was almost all one big fight.

Over the holiday break, I watched the 2nd season of 30 Coins, the 2nd season of Sweet Home, and Silo.

30 Coins is just a ridiculous show. I forgot most of what happened in season 1. So I was kind of lost. And the show just gets crazier and crazier that I barely knew what the plot was. I find Spanish shows harder to follow because they tend to talk fast, which makes it hard to keep up with subtitles. I don't know how they managed to rope Paul Giamatti into this show. I don't know if I'll bother watching this show for the next season.

Silo was enjoyable. Somehow better than its parts. It feels like it's the most generic, post-apocalyptic sci-fi show. They even refer to 'The Before Times' which I'm pretty sure people only use ironically now because it's such a cliche. But, despite that, it managed to keep my interest throughout and I'm looking forward to the 2nd season.

Sweet Home is another one that I sort of forgot what happened in season 1. This is a Korean show where people start turning into monsters (not zombies). The first season took place mostly in one apartment. The second season was that awkward part of monster/zombie shows where they need to expand the world out and introduce the military. They spent like a third of the season wrapping up a few of the characters from season 1, then did a time jump, which introduced new characters. The time just was kind of weird. It felt like I missed a couple episodes, as if they didn't explain the gap well enough. And it kind of had a weird feeling where you didn't really know that some of the new characters are now going to be main characters, and some of the main characters just faded into the background. Overall it kind of felt incomplete. It didn't even really end on a cliffhanger. It seemed like there should have been a couple more episodes in the season. They said a new season is coming in the summer.

Started Brothers Sun. Decent show - 2 episodes in.
Berlin. Not feeling it - 2 episodes in.
Reacher. Decent show and enjoyable. Up to date.
Hell's Kitchen. Love this show.
Monarch Legacy of Monsters. Too much drama not enough monsters. I also think the story doesn't sit well with the Universe of movies even though they tried their best to force fit it.
AGT Fantasy League. Decent but samey acts that I have seen before. Also too soon right after Champions.
Gen V. Terrible show. I think I am up to episode 4 and I honestly don't know the point of this.
James May Our Man in Italy. Still trying to finish this before I do India.
Lessons in Chemistry. Liked it. Decent show.
Recently finished a show that I don't remember anymore since site was down a lot.

Gen V. Terrible show. I think I am up to episode 4 and I honestly don't know the point of this.
I just started watching it. Two episodes in. Seems okay so far.

It doesn't seem like they explained much. The show sort of relies on the audience having knowledge about the world from The Boys.
