What was your all time favorite console ?

yeah, i think SNES is probably the best console to date. it had the biggest variety of awesome games
 
Atari 2600 was the crap back in the day...Helll I have been trying to find one at a garage sale this year...:D
 
atari, with its indestructable joypads. we used to bolt them to a plank of wood then sit on the plank( stops ya hand from dying mid game ), defender was the bollocks.

I can only name three REALLY great games for 3d consoles: zelda, parasite eve and xenogears
these three are some of the best games I ever played though

but SNES, that was the shizznit
I remember when the official Nintendo Sweden first came to town to show of Contra, Castevania etc.
the Mode 7 effects had us all stunned
and when they plugged in Zelda the jaws dropped to the floor

it was passion back then
now it's just: pop in the cd
yada yada bad looking polygons etc.

2D gaming was better in my opinion, for consoles that is

one of the clerks from my local videogame shop just came home from some console convetion last night (might it have been E3?)
he said he had tried Phantasy Star Online, check this out, on a... GameCube
is he full of crap or could it be true?

well I have some confidence in GameCube
and judging from what I've read and what he told me, it's gonna be a winner

the PS2 sucks, badly
the only thing that've impressed me on it yet is the Metal Gear Solid Sons of Liberty demo
DAMN that is going to be one GREAT game!

Dreamcast is already dying, but I had some real fun with dreamcast
soul caliber is one of the greatest beat em ups ever, dead or alive 2 is also nice (hehe the PS2 version SUCKED, even the 2nd edition)

nintendo IS console gaming
the PS2 and Xbox are just stripped down computers adn the dreamcast is dead

I never enjoyed the Megadrive, the graphics sucked, POOR colors
the mega cd had some great games though: silpheed and lunar series
bot where they great

the master system never had any games that I liked besides wonderboy and phantasy star

the NES, well what can I say
all my favourite game-series started on this console :D

too bad that the Nintendo CD-Rom never was released
those screenies of Secret of Mana sure looked incredible!

some BSX games are really cool too, the re-released and revamped Zelda 1 was GREAT!!! too bad that no one has the final rom :(
and zelda BSX would've been great, but no one has figured out how it's compressed so no sound and only sprites can be seen :(

well I'm waiting for the next big Nintendo project: Metroid for the Gamecube
I don't care if the console sucks I'm still gonna get it for this one game!

Yup SNES was the ultimate.
And phantasy star IS on the Gamecube.
Cuz sega dropped out of the consoles and started doing games now.
They are collaborating with the Cube and Xbox.
 
SNES for me

It had EVERYTHING, and probably the best rpgs of all time was on that console.

My favorite games of all times are on that console

Zelda3
Chrono trigger
Secret of mana 1 and 2
Super mario world (best platform game EVAR)
Fzero
Star fox
SUPER METROID !! (nostalgia..)
on and on

So many memories :)


That was the golden days of gaming, genesis vs snes was such an exciting generation, i miss it so much :(

Anyway, GBA will probably replace the SNES for 2d gaming, which i really cant wait for, old school 2d rpgs or platforming games are really fun.
 
Yeah.. it would probably have to be the SNES, closely followed by the Playstation - I still have my SNES by the way, and I got one of those redesigned PSones for Christmas.. I have played Gran Turismo 2 LOADS since then :)

I was never a Sega fan, but I did really like the Streets Of Rage series :)

the best 2d console and had all of the best 2d fighters : samari showdown, street fighter , kof , the vs series. Nothing could match the saturn it has some of the best games!!!!!

- revolutionized the whole console movement
- just was so much plain old fun!
 
I think that out of all the consoles I've ever owned I still have the fondest memories of my SNES. I'm sure that will all change once the Gamecube is out. Man, there are so many games I want to play on it. Rogue Squadron looks awesome and they still have over 5 months to make it even better...drool
 
I think my fondest console memories would instantly take me back to the good ol' NES. My first console. Damn I used to spend days playin' Contra all night long. Nothing but me, a bag o' skittles, a couple Dr. Peppers, the game, 99 lives (remember U,D,U,D,L,R,L,R,B,A,Start ;) and pure, unadulturated fun.

As if that weren't enough, who could forget the origional Final Fantasy? Or Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!

Damn I gotta go dig one up....
