you'll be SORry. when "complete" I was MOST fortunate to see a black screen with cursor:mad:. if ya'll don't much care for that, do NOT update. can only use safe mode/networking, and no fix that seems applicable:mad:

Update the graphic driver? It's better if you did a clean install. I had the same problem and not just with the Anniversary update. I got it working again by uninstalling the graphic drivers in safemode. If it doesn't work when you log in then try making a new user account.

Was this an actual update from previous version (1511)? I've done a clean install of the anniversary update on one machine and it actually went pretty smoothly. There are lots of little things I don't like (when you compare it to 1511), but overall it seems alright. It does have its issues, though.

My only fear with staying with the previous version is this: what's gonna happen when the deferral window expires in a few months? Do we get the anniversary update pushed to us then? Or can we reasonably keep using the older version? I'm assuming that MS will stop supporting it in a few months and won't leave us much choice.

Also, it's downright asinine that the newest games they're pushing for Win10 (Recore and GOW4) also list the anniversary update as a requirement-- and it was only officially released last month. :hmm:

chatted with one tech. did a grx driver update, which didn't work. got someone else the second time. this one suggested an iso repair. seems someone previous to me had the same prob and that worked. still waiting on a call back

isn't the black screen with cursor issue a mis-identification of two monitors? It thinks there's a second one, and you're seeing that?

Also, I still can't use windows 10 on a custom built PC, constant hard locks. Can't even upgrade to anniversary edition because it freezes too much.

I had a recurring crash in windows 10 until I disabled some power management stuff in the bios , C6 I think and maybe something else.(gigabyte board)
Was rock solid in windows 7 and mint 17 linux.

Odd thing the exact same chipset/cpu with asus has never had a problem with windows 10.

since the update, i am unable to edit anything in the windowsapps folder. i cant add or take away anything that is a windows store purchased game. and through changing permissions, and taking ownership, i reboot into a inaccessible boot device. Thanks anniversary update!

I've actually enjoyed the Anniversary update on my work machine. Not a single issue, and actually made the whole thing better overall.

those who had it work prolly didn't have windowsblinds installed. stardock has an update for 10 anniversary but it's 50/50 there'll be a black screen. anyway, it's uninstalled till they come out with a BETter update. only use it cuz microsatan's themes SUKK in appearance

I dont like the email icon in the lower right corner.(if your space bar is on the bottom of your screen/monitor).. The log in screen is a bit different too but it doesn't make a difference. I haven't noticed anything else.

Installation freezes at 24% every time. Let it sit over night for it to still be completely frozen when i wake up. Even the circles stop spinning.:hmm:

Tried 5 times so far.

You people should go back to Windows 7 cause Windows 10 is garbage

I run Win7 booting from Samsung M.2 NVME, running 10 Core CPU with Nvidia 1080 and everything works better than on Win10. And yes USB 3, 3.1 works as well giving me full theoretical speed.

Newer hardware you throw at Win10 bigger f. mess you get...OS is simply a ****.

It installed the other night via Windows Update. So far no problems at all.

I'm running six Win10 installs here at home, and haven't had any issues w/ the anniversary update.

Lmao..... Window blinds\UXtheme will break your install on major update. Can't really blame MS on that one.

3 rigs here no issues.

Maybe it's time to check your installation media or your sata cables.
