Please do not get me wrong, I am a IE user . However, I downloaded netscape 6.1 to play with and they have really gotten their act together...I am impressed!

Skip Netscape. It's got too much AOL junk in it. The real solution is Mozilla. It's the open source project that Netscape 6+ is based off of. It's essentially the same thing, without ads for AOL everywhere. There's a new milestone release every month, with nightly builds for those who are experimental.

I refuse to use IE, because I object to it morally. It loads up with Windows and it uses nonstandard html. Mozilla is standards compliant, and it's beautiful. It's great now, and it's only getting better.

I use IE with Windows, and Mozilla with Linux. I don't like MS too much, but I must admit that IE rocks. I wish IE could get ported over to Linux, but I know that'll never happen.

As far as Nutscrape goes, I looked at 6.0 one time, vomited, and went back to Mozilla.

I also like Opera, but I'm not a fan of the interface.

And yes, Pojo, we all know that you don't have morals.

Explorer is fast, more stable and easier to code for. What freaking more do you want? I hate when people use inferior products just because of some moral values or some stupid **** like that.

I totally agree, but another point...

if you wanna take this moraly, IE ALL THE WAY!
-you dont get stressed trying to work there crappy coding out.
-w/o Netscrap, we would be able to get web pages done fster, so mo'money for the developers, which makes me happy.
&
-you know everything is going to work right the first time!!!

IM not a HUGE fan of MS, but, some things they have there shiat together! This is one of them....

Question, with opera, is coding like IE, or like netscrap?!

So you guys are in favor of a monopoly in the web browser market? No thanks. You only think the IE way is the right way because it's dominant. But I agree that incompatibilities suck, so there must be a solution to this problem...OH, I KNOW! STANDARDS! I knew there was a reason that the web consortium agreed on those (including MS). Mozilla/Netscape 6 and Opera are the only standards compliant browsers out there. MS needs to get their act together, not Netscape.

?

I think IE 5.5 is more standards compliant than any other browser. Netscrape doesn't seem too standards compliant to me. It screws up lots of webpages.

Netscape 4.x is not standards compliant, but 6 is. A lot of webpages aren't standards compliant, so that can cause some confusion if something looks right in IE but not Netscape 6.

ITs what ever the populous use's most thats standard! Is it right?!?! thats a diff question all together, but for now, IE is the MOST widley used browser with the least hasltes to work with....So for me, its the best way for me to spit out web sites. FACE it. NETSCAPE IS CRAP IN ALL RELEASES, even the latest ver. Full of bugs, full of fixes, full of crapage.

Dont get me wrong, like i said, im not a MS fan, BUT IE is whats best for the time being. Plain and simple.

I have just finished deleting Netscape 6.1

one word for it... CRAP
I forget what it stands for, but "CRAP" is an acronym for some techniques for good user interfaces. I agree, MousePotato. :)

To me it would be like haveing one choice for a video card. It would SUCK. I like useing Netscape. This "crap" and "bugs" lol man were talking about MS you know WINDOWS=bug. I use both all the time. So far with Netscape 6 it has only quit once with out trying to take the whole OS with it like IE does. Then again I use Linux/XP and Mac so I like to get around.

IM talking more or less about coding.....I always have to go back and do netscapeification the work i do ( takes WAY too long ).

IE 6 is going gold on the 24th
the early betas had a VAST speedimprovement but as the builds went on it's gone :(
other than that there's not much noticable new in it over 5.5 sp2

And if you coded for Netscape first, then you'd have to go back and do IE-ification. Again, standards are the key.

Thats the thing you dont have to do that. Its only Nutscape that has issues. By some magical force IE would not have any issues with tweaked code that Netscape requires. Overall IE is just easier to work with because its very very very rare for it to have any issues. It can do more with less code. I wont even go into serious resizing issues NS has and its crap support for styles. You have to be crazy to use Netscape if IE is and option.

The real issue is that web developer apps produce code that works with IE and in most cases needs extra special additions to get around bugs in NS. I dont want to add extra code and slow everything down. Forget NS if they cant make a good browser then they deserve to die. I am for one very glad that **** browser is gone.
Quit assuming that what was true for Netscape 4.x (which sucked, I admit) is true for Netscape 6/Mozilla.
