11.10 WHQL

BSOD when fast forwarding AVHCD (mpeg2 files, 15-20 mbps) is still there. Release notes mentioned a fix for crashes during mpeg2/mp4 playbacks. I was hoping I could finally move past 11.8 preview drivers (beyond which all releases have had this crash)

Hopefully 11.11 will have a fix for this.

Any difference in performance from preview 2? I have those installed and never tried preview 3 since I learnt that they bug out Rage (which is another game I am playing).

Are these drivers good for Rage, BF3, Space Marine?

yes they are great for all 3 of those games :) except cross/tri fire doesn't work in rage but you don't need any more then one good gpu to run it at at atleast 60 fps , even at 1600p at max settings

Don't count on these working for Rage. See my post above.

You can, however, copy the atioglxx.dll from the preview driver into the Rage directory. That makes Rage (and only Rage) default to that driver while other OpenGL apps default to the 11.10 driver in your Windows directory.

I think I will just ignore ATi driver updates until I am done with RAGE. It's not like I have poor performance in BF3 or something.

Don't need the headache of copying DLLs etc when everything is working as adverstised w/ 11.10 v2.

If you are already using the Preview3 drivers, don't waste your time.
Just add in the 11.9 CAP4 and you'll be fine.
Rage has no CFX profile though, and probably never will.

Preview3 runs Rage just fine for me.....well as fine as one can hope for anyway.

They really need to fix their installer.
Sometimes it works, other times it don't.
It says "warnings were detected" in the final report, you look at the file, and there isn't one warning listed.

This time, after install, I had no CCC, no tray icons, but I had the CCC right context menu option (which didn't work).

Use driversweeper to clean the drivers. Install again. This time, everything works, except there is no CCC in the right context menu.

Ugh.

It is not hard to have a verify option for the installer, to make sure everything installed correctly.

I still sometimes crash on map changes in BF3. The server doesn't crash, just me. So drivers don't really do too much, I'm not too bummed though because I know it's hard to polish the game for 5 million people in just one week. If it doesn't get fixed in a couple months though, then heads will roll :)

11.10 has been nothing but problems for my crossfire 6970s.

biggest issue is the 2nd gpu wont run at full speed of 890/1375 1.175v. instead its at 500/1375 1.0v. that brings my fps down to low on ultra. WTF!

I've had that EXACT SAME stuff happening mainly because I was using driversweeper all the time. It should be run only for extreme cases of screwabunga.
On a fresh system install 6 months ago I decided to stop using it.
The drivers run just fine ever since, only regular uninstall followed by reboot and new installation is needed, no tinkering with folders and cleaners, the installer will do its job smoothly and greet you with a nice green check-mark at the end of the procedure.

STOP USING DRIVER SWEEPER FOR REGULAR DRIVER INSTALLATION.

I finished Rage, played first half with Preview2, second with Preview3 and got less npc flickering. Now playing BF3 campaign. No issue whatsoever, great performance. At recommended as well as @ Ultra. If you ask me, Preview3 or WHQL (which i assume are the same?) is the preferred driver. (I am using Preview3).

waiting for cf on rage :hmm:

Well, I think I will hold off just a wee bit longer until I finish Rage. That game is pumping fine with me without the NPC flickering crap that people have been posting.

I had to do this to play Rage with those drivers. I can't understand why AMD releases a WHQL driver that breaks Rage completely without putting it in big, bold letters in the known issues. People using preview 3 should not "upgrade" to 11.10 final.

However I must say that Battlefield 3 runs flawlessly.

I can run RAGE on 11.9 though textures make it almost unplayable. 11.10 shows all terrain and buildings as blue but sky is normal. No other games affected
