2011 christmas folding build

only thing that was tough was this plug really close

Can you put the entire kit above the fan shroud and pop off the top for more room?

sazar not without tubing and moding the kit. The outside of the case with your own kit u could mount two very large rads or put the fans on top and the rad on inside

thanks lupine

merry christmas everyone

smp this morn was just under 60000 ppd with a temp of 67c on low at 4.5
great investment - it was all worth it :fold:

playing with the gpu this morning seem like the gpu will do 20000 ppd at 51c
even though its taking the cpu down to 40000 ppd so its a wash in my book .
also pushed the cpu to 71c pretty quick.
its a wash, besides it will pull more power from the plug.

do to the fact that hfm.net does not work with v7folding i cant get a good feel for the points no log or such dang i miss hfm.net.

the o/c is very much in play, at 4.0 looks to be around 30000 ppd at 4.5 its around 55000 ppd with out video card..

the video card with what ever oc nets around 5000ppd due to loss on cpu which runs in the 10 to 15 thousand .

so to make a long story short the bonus points are not linear.

i will try to post some screen shots when hfm works with v7

but for now im gona run v7 with the cpu and smile with a avg from one box of 55000 ppd

o yea with the sb-e heat is your enemy . special attn must be payed to the vrm(using a cpu waterblock) to prevent throdling for 24/7 folding. using fan for now as no water block is ready yet

awesome power ease of build great products all . Now lets see if it can take some folding pressure bhahahahah:p

makes using my gpu silly really i would need 4x580s to top one cpu  and that still might not do it .sorry i dont have a big amd to compare

amazing is a understatment. The only shocker to me is the loss when the video is going, not the same impact as with the i7 but that was a year ago alot has changed.

compared to my i7920 in ppd and cost.

hell my guess is if you wanted to farm like in the old days this is the ticket.

use a cheeper board ,cheeper ps and a cheeper videocard and a standard hd prob under 1grand now thats value for your buck.

not sure what the 5.0 level oc would net but i will let you know when i know .
Im gona guess the cost for going over 5.0 24/7 is gona be high and really not cost effective but verymuch doable.

Certainly a sweet build. The only hesitation is the 12 core count, which "high end obsolete" already as far as Stanford is concerned (min. 16 cores for -bigadv). Shame, because that rig would annihilate many (most?) of the 16way servers out there on the PPD front.

really dont have a chance to run bigadv on it .

I think the 16t chips will be comming this year on 2011 socket. I hope

500 buck chip 70000 ppd(guessing on cpu watts) under 300 watts no gpu needed thats the right direction

now the no bigadv on this chip suxs what it could do in a vm running linux

It is rocking in windows and its about time ;)

good question but without knowing the tpf its hard to say other than it would do well .

Not sure what tpf is but I was just thinking that the dual quad cores with hyperthreading ought to be able to get the big wu's.

*Edit* I looked up tpf. :)
