Says you've already got 167 points so you must've submitted a WU or two already. What client(s) are you running and what are your system specs? Note you can enable the system specs option from the same page in your user CP.

Quad Core AMD Phenom @3ghz
ATI 4850 1GB
8GB Ram

running client 6.29 beta for MPICH...just followed the directions up top. I may get my PS3 involved later.

Looks good. Are you running the system tray client or the console client? If the former then you should switch to the latter.

When will my points, user name, or team # appear in the Folding Statistics?

When you first start to fold, your user name will not appear in the statistics until your FAH client has completed its first work unit. And because the stats pages are updated every few hours, your stats may not appear immediately. Please be patient. If you created a new team, it will appear right away.

I see you're at about 20k PPD, nice! Are you running SMP clients on all those systems? Which flags? How many hours per day? Any GPU folding?

The machines fold 24x7, running the windows 6.29 smp client. Flags on all machines are;

bigpackets=normal
local=277
extra_parms=-smp -verbosity 9 -advmethods

[http]
active=no
host=localhost
port=8080
usereg=no

[clienttype]
memory=5096
type=3

[core]
nocpulock=1
checkpoint=15

Environment variables are; FLUSH_INTERVAL=128, CAL_PRE_FLUSH=1,CAL_NO_FLUSH=1, BROOK_YIELD=2

If you have the resources (i.e. 2GB or more), I'd suggest changing to "bigpackets=yes". Also, make sure you get a passkey and use it to get bonus points!

I have the memory...but dont the bigpackets take longer to run for the same point return? or do ther return much higher points?
oh and do you mean "bigpackets= big"?

I thought it was bigpackets=yes but I don't generally specify those flags, I just apply them when running the client setup for the first time and answer yes to the question when it comes up. Also, if you're not running the -advmethods flag that would be a good one to add.

From the FAH WinSMPGuide:

Acceptable size of work assignment and work result packets (bigger units may have large memory demands) -- 'small' is <5MB, 'normal' is <10MB, and 'big' is >10MB (small/normal/big) [normal]?

*This option states a preference for the size of work units downloaded and uploaded to the project servers. Note that all SMP WUs are large in size, so big is the required setting. Bigger units will also have bigger memory requirements. If you run on a slower broadband or dialup internet connection, small is the recommended setting to ease your bandwidth usage and you may want to switch to the CPU client instead.

Shaidar's got the idea, go big ;)

Well with Winter on I felt that we could crank up the machines to help warm the house. Right now I have my 1055T (@3.5) with a 6850 and the wifes 970 at stock and a 4850 cranking away.

I used the FAH GPU Tracker V2 for a simple install on both machines.

I will be building up my 1100T with a GTX 570 later this week and swapping ou the 1055T machine with a 1090T and a 6870.

Not got the most points in the world since I have not folded for a long time but will do what I can to help.

Well, I recently left my job where my desktop was running its 8800GT and 9600GSO 24/7, so my desktops came home. Thus no more 24/7 folding. I start a new job with the Department of the Navy on the 20th.

So, my 8800GT is part of my Phenom X4 system now. While it's not on 24/7, whenever I have that computer on and I'm not running anything that needs PhysX, I have F@H running on it.

My second desktop now has the 9600GSO. It's rarely on but I can set up F@H on it again when I'm doing DVD burning and other misc things.

We have got to crank up our daily production numbers, quite a few of them are not that far ahead in DP. I will put in the extra 450 this weekend.

Looks like my webserver took a windows update based crap a couple weeks ago - will be back in the R3D Fold tonight. :cool:

My name is Hamilton and I live in the Lake District of the UK and run a number of machines on SMP and GPU clients. I've always kept an eye on the Rage3d web site since the days of the Rage 128 (my first serious graphic card ) been running folding for a little over 2 years

Hi Hami,

Nice of you to drop in :) Hit up the bragging thread when you reach 4 mil, shouldn't take long :up:
