Anyone folding the new Core_17 WU...

Hmm Thanks.. I know the older cores would not work with the latest sdk atleast for the gpu, I don't think it mattered for the cpu side I'll uninstall and give it a whirl..
Are any of those testers using an Amd processor ? It would make sense my TPF would be higher than an Intel based system.

I have to do the same for my daughters comp too was throwing errors with the new core..kept saying bad download but has no issue with the older 11292-11293 so I removed the client-type beta flag from it for now.

It doesn't matter if the CPU is Intel or AMD and I'm pretty sure that there was at least 1 guy with an AMD (there was a spread sheet to record system configs and performance of the core but it's been taken down now).

This core running on the 7000 series of cards uses less than 1% CPU so relative speed of the CPU doesn't impact the core.

Woot Thank you !
I'm now running the 13.4 with the latest SDK 2.8 ? I guess.
TPF on GPU 1 & 2 are running at 1min 28 seconds now. Cards aren't even oc'ed at stock speed of 1010 core 1375 mem.

Now to fix my daughters problem.. I'll install the 13.4 too .. I think it's time to add a couple case fans on the door, bet her HD6950 is running too hot.

Excellent! :) I'm glad it's working better. I have an HD6950 clocked at 950MHz and it's doing about 17.6K PPD. Works out to more than 3x more PPD than old AMD WU's.

I pulled one of these down just now. On a single 7870 it's pulling about 55k at stock (1050/1250) while only using 2% cpu time.

These cores seem very well tuned. I oc'ed my cards back to 1100 core 1500 mem and saw the TPF drop to 1 min 22 sec.
I'm debating if it's even worth keeping the cards oc'ed.

:D wow... 55K PPD from a $230 GPU. That's really good.

On a side note... how about bring the excellent PPD you will be getting with these cards over to this team? :D We'd love you have you here.

I'm gonna take a break from folding once these beta units dry out or once I hit 10m, whichever comes first. Our big production guy on my team I think quit or something because he hasn't produced for a few months :(

If/when I come back I'll prob join this team or whichever other team is fairly active. :)

BTW, when I bought this GPU it cost me $360, I was one of the early adopter's. Also I wonder how much is the wattage difference of running just this 7870 vs my 3570k which I have at 4.2ghz... I know unless I get some wicked WU's this GPU will out-produce the CPU.
