Battlefield 5 RTX impressions

Impressive!

Ti owners may enjoy rtx with 4k and more importantly rtx 2070 owners may enjoy rtx with 1440p. Amazing turn around.

it is getting better at 4k than I ever thought it would

till 7nm anyway

but it is only one game where are all the others you promised NVidia

maybe one I can see the special effects without a death screen :hmm:

Performance tested with new patch.

Right off the bat, just looking at 4k the performance is massively improved. The game is more than playable at 4k now with everything Ultra if someone wanted to play the single player campaign at 4k with ray tracing on.

And of course, 1440p performance is right out the park. Fast enough even for multiplayer.

Not too long ago the usual haters were harping on the fact ray tracing could only be used at 1080p. Now we're at 70+ fps at 1440p and almost nearly 50fps at 4k with RTX Ultra.

Damn near 60 fps switching to RTX Medium or Low, which is also still visually impressive.

NV sure showed the naysayers up at least with Battlefield 5. Now we just need other games where you don't die every 10 seconds. :bleh:

Now if they can implement DLSS as well :masterrace: :masterrace:

I actually want to see DLSS 2x in action in any game. Like having a pack of condoms in hand but waiting for the hooker to arrive. Not that I know anything about that. :bleh:

Lol so now when you buy Asus cards you’re not supporting NV .. wtf am I reading

Nice RTX performance increases. Not gonna lie, I’m surprised they found that much of a boost. 1440P looks pretty good performance wise with RTX.

My take from watching the video on the improvements is part of it was from a bug, the other part isn't really a boost, but an elimination of the work load, as they specifically said they have reduced the number of rays being traced, as well as removed ray tracing on reflections that they believe shouldn't be ray traced.

They could have been over ray tracing much of the game, and they still may be doing it, so there may be even more improvements, however, keep in mind that BFV is only using a portion of ray tracing for reflections and light rays, and in other games that fully implement Ray tracing in It's entirely, people may not see the same optimizations and improvements in other games.

With that said, it's good so see that they have managed to get some optimizations out of it to make it perform much better, regardless of how they achieve it.

It's clear we have not had a must have RT game yet. I hope TR can show off more and better RT effects as well as the next Metro game.

75-80 fps at 1440P seems like a decent compromise. Hmm, to order or not is the question.

I would wait and see how it fares in other titles first if RT is what you are buying it for. Or wait for it to mature a little first.

But if you have an itch, you must scratch it.
