Hey fellow folders. It's been painfully quiet around here for the last month. Seems everyone stopped talking. :(

We've had a bunch of new folders join but also a bunch of old that have stopped. So, what's happening with everyone that's still folding for the team?

I'll start...

Less than a year folding and just broke 40 million points December 3rd. :)

Picked up a Gigabyte GTX 670 on Black Friday for just $300 and started GPU folding with client-type=beta. So far about 75% of the GPU WU's have been the new type that get early return bonus points. This GPU is pulling down about 124K PPD!

Hoping to grab another GTX 670 or a GTX 660ti if there are any Christmas (or Boxing Day) sales. Looking to consolidate the 8 or 9 boxes that I folded on to just 1 or 2 for easier management.

Jim is crushing the folding scene!

 :fold:

I finally put together that 2600 that had been sitting in the shop for 1 year. Was hoping to run 16gb of mem but this Asus Sabretooth P67 B3 mobo will only boot with a stick in slot 4:nuts: Eventually I'll get over my disgust and just run the 1 8gb stick.

Still running the old clients and need to upgrade those too ...:bleh:

just got the new hive 2 case loaded up thinking about a new gpu folding set up .This top 10 is tough:drool: .Good to know caveman is still hard at it .

wonder how lup is doing

on the smack side, bleeder lookout lol

I think only the new "good" WU's are coming to the 7.x client now. So, if you upgrade the client your points may actually go up a bit. I may have read that wrong on the Stanford Folding Forum though.

bleeder im using a 580 and its getting around 40tho a day on the new projects . I was thinking 660ti, wondering if the 670 and 660ti would fold about the same. or grab a couple of 580s cheep.

580 working on project 7623(r522.c1 and its doing 40186ppd or 5.03tpf in hfm

From what I've read the 670 and 660ti fold at pretty much that same PPD. I have a stock(?) 670 and it's getting about 38K PPD right now on a 7623 project.

Again from what I've read (this is the first nVidia card that I've ever owned) the GTX 6xx runs cooler and uses less power than the comparable GTX 5xx and the fact that I picked up the GTX 670 for just $300 lead me to go with the 670.

I'm hoping for a good deal on the 660ti on Boxing Day because in the long run electricity is expensive (at least in Ontario) and a slightly less PPD is OK if I'm saving the with the life span cost of the power to run the card(s) while folding.

I will try to make some time to post some build pic and some finish pic, pfft hell I don't think I ever get done lol I stuck a airplex copper quad in the top for the cpu and the 2nd loop is a monster 220 in the bottom cooling chipset and 1 580 the second will be here this weekend .

trying to see if I can round up 2 more on the cheep off of fleabay

had to limit myself to one machine one big machine bahbhbahah

I'm interested to see how high you can crank the 3930K when it's water cooled. And pics would be nice to see as you're putting it together. :)

Good luck with your build!
