Demon Soul (PS3)

The servers have been very quiet for a long time, so not much is lost. A final run might be nice if what's left of the community would fancy a final meet-up. Kind of a spark in the dark before all light fades. There's been brief comeback campaigns every now and then, so that might actually be a possibility. I still have my PS3, would just have to dig it from storage.

A remaster, that I don't care about. Let the good memories fade. Demon's has had a good long run, it's time for a rest.

Have to disagree my friend - Shrine of Storms with DaS3 graphics and updated audio

:p

I'm not a big fan of remasters, I'd prefer new content. BB2 would be nicer to have, or something fully new.

What if they included the Land of the Giants archstone as a finished level? :D

I would definitely be all over a Demon's Souls remaster regardless of any new content. Just to play it again with Dark Souls 3 graphics and (maybe) 60 fps would be worth rebuying

I hope they stay away from BB 2 until they can change up things more, make it more souls-like instead of just basically being less punishing regular souls.

Land of Giants is a difficult topic, I'm not sure adding it after such a long time to a possible remake would be beneficial for the game. DeS has subtle differences in gameplay approaches that they've dropped from newer games, and a dlc based on the approach used in the newer games would likely feel out of place. Regardless of the approach they'd use, they would make someone angry or disappointed.

Well that's always going to happen regardless.

But how do we know they'd add something based on what they've been doing in the newer games? I just figured if they finished whatever assets they had started for the Land of Giants and included it as a bonus it would be a cool add on to a remaster. if people took issue to that or felt it tainted the actual intended Demon's Souls game they could always go back and play the original release (without online component though).

I'm starting NG+ on this...I wanted to have one more go at it in anticipation of a PS5 and the remake, probably 2021 for me, but I'm surprised at just how well the original still holds up today. Even without the online component.

I really hope Bluepoint didn't dumb down anything. Certain areas/bosses are fairly easy, but some of it is still just an absolute bitch to get through. Loving it.

Let’s hope they add a mode for regular Joe who don’t got time to waste on video games.

wtf. I'm out on disability leave and you're still gaming more than me

A regular Joe mode would destroy this game. It's one of the original "Holy **** where the heck is the next save point because I know I'm going to get wrecked!?" games :bleh: :bleh:

Did anyone end up playing on PS5? I missed the original version and started on the new one. I am very early in the game and I like the environment. It seems a lot easier than games like Bloodborne and Sekiro far and there is a lot more variance in Class Builds to choose from in the beginning of the game. After playing Ghosts of Tsushima lately I tend to eat more grass than actually swing my sword in battle. But, I’ll get over the button confusion soon enough…

I played it. It’s almost an exact duplicate of the original with top notch graphics. But all the same “Souls” rules apply > don’t get greedy, look around corners when able and try to not get caught short by multiple enemies.

Well worth the play through. Just watch your weight management, even the grass has weight, and after picking up enough you’ll be wondering why you have no stamina lol. Make use of the storage you get
