So I downloaded these two mods:

Keep the dead - keeps dead bodies, gibs, and blood

Particles 9000 - increases particles effects

Oh my, it's total mayhem. Looks amazing in action.

DLSS does a great job at AA, very clean image without the shimmering that was present with default TAA.

Along with RT these additions make quite a nice upgrade to the game.
 
I haven't noticed any difference with capped fps so can't say how big the hit is, but there probably is a sizable hit - YMMV. They're not permanent, just hang around for a lot longer.
 
So the Digital Foundry analysis video shows some console tweaks that can allow ray tracing on more/all surfaces and increase it's quality. Sorry can't link I'm on phone, but it produces some nice results. Will try after work.

The highest setting uses half-resolution reflections, but going into the game console with the tilde key and typing, r_raytracedReflectionsTemporalUpscaleQuality 0 gives you full quality reflections. Another tweak is to increase the amount of surfaces which can have ray traced reflections. This is done by using r_SSRMinSmoothness and changing it to some value closer to 0. The closer you get, the more surfaces receive reflections. I

Thanks Mangler, I changed r_SSRMinSmoothness and r_raytracedReflectionsTemporalUpscaleQuality to 0 and it looks freaking awesome. :drool:

r_raytracedReflectionsTemporalUpscaleQuality dropped fps to around 100 though, which is a shame as it really cleans up the RT noise. I'm torn, think I might cap at 100fps and use that for a bit.

edit/ Oh btw, it can be changed in real time.

Can you run an autoexec.cfg? Or bind commands to keys?

I might have been a bit ambitious with r_raytracedReflectionsTemporalUpscaleQuality set to 0, as I just entered an area where FPS dropped to the 60's.

The other command that allows ray tracing on all surfaces works like a charm though, looks great.
 
Holy ****, this game feels so goddamn easy now.
They didn't nerf anything (TAG1 is actually much harder). It just happened overtime in an organic manner, the game was successful in teaching the player heh.

First time playthroughs are still hard because you lack all the tools.


The new master levels are meme levels of difficulty though.
I can't even get past the very first bridge area in Taras Nabad :D.

I play the Master Levels on Ultra Violence. They are brutal, especially the last one. Took me +4 hours. Was great.

This game worth replaying with the new RTX?

I think so, having a ball with it. Acroig says it's subtle and it is at first, but I'm finding it pretty impressive further into the game adding a lot of polish to the graphics.

Definitely add r_SSRMinSmoothness 0 to console if you CBF. I just copy and paste upon launch.


These two mods make a pretty big difference for me. More so the particle effects but both are great.
