Everything pisses me off…

To be honest though, I see why you are pissed.

From an "outsider's" point of view, the USA is preparing for an overhaul that pushes for equality amongst all races. Strengthening their position as the world leader as China becomes a major competitor with their silk road initiative.

With such moves though, it seems major sacrifices have been made. And yes, all in all, that includes the quality of life many seem to have taken for granted.

Challenging time guys, please hang in there.

I think it's a number of factors, not just muti-race (staying out of P&R here).
We don't teach manners anymore. Haven't in a long time.

I'm not sure if that's an American thing, or something that is happening in other countries as well. But we don't think about our fellow man, we don't think about how we should behave among others, how we should hide how we feel when interacting with strangers we do not know, and just plain being KIND.
I've banned children at our venue because rules are not applied to them. I love well mannered kids. I love showing them the plants here in the woods that they can eat, and how to get a hoverfly to land on their hand, however much it looks like a bee/wasp.
But most kids have no manners. If we don't teach them now, they never learn.

I don't know if it's a melting pot thing. I don't know if some manners don't make sense among other cultures. Or if we are in the midst of making our own culture.
But Americans are a rude-a$$ bunch.
Our country is in for a BIG overhaul. I'm concerned at how big. It's not just race. It's a lot of factors, and an idiotic farce of a two-party system (ooops, skittering toward P&R).

But, overall, American life feels like a trap. Some people see the cage, others feel like it is there but don't see the bars and still react, negatively, to others.
It's a mess.

We aren't in a good direction.

You'll find me in the forest. Okay maybe you won't find me. I don't really want to be found between weddings.

Just put an offer in for a house in a gated 55+ golf community.
Maybe limiting my exposure to the real world will help lower my whisky bills.:D

Next thread incoming: “Gated Community Pisses me Off!”

I miss the smile-and-wave-at-strangers vibe that we used to have.

You live in South Park.

I'm going down to South Park
Gonna have myself a time
Friendly faces everywhere
Humble folks without temptation

I'm going down to South Park
Gonna leave my woes behind
Ample parking day or night
People spouting "Howdy neighbor!"

Maybe if less people spent so much effort crapping on service workers during the pandemic all the good ones wouldn’t have bailed for less customer facing job.

Teachers.
Nurses.
Doctors.
School board members.
Pretty much anyone doing a job....

Yeah. I can see that.

Yeah. I can see that.

Totally.
I'm only just now feeling like I am getting myself back. I'm slowly getting my innovation and creativity back. We took some serious abuse during the pandemic. Made it hard.
People can be truly awful.

For sure. I’m glad you and yours are doing better grey.

Believe me, it's pretty much happening in every modern city as speak. Common manners are pretty much taking a back seat right now.

Say Hong Kong for example. Close family and friends aside, people don't normally care what the heck others think. It's actually commonplace here to speak down on others to make yourself sound quick witted (aka "smart"). In some extreme cases, they won't hesitate to trample over you if it means big bucks. Not to mention the Mainland where money and influence trumps genuine altruism.

Last time I was in Toronto (around 4-5 years ago?) I was rather taken aback how people have changed as well. Much faster paced and such, I saw way more "short fused" people than I recognized from Canada say 13 years ago.

The world is certainly changing.

After a week of negotiations we met right in the middle of exactly what I offered.:)
We are moving to a 55+ golf community in the middle of nowhere.
I will miss restaurant options but my waistline should benefit.

Happy GRUNT.

That's really sad.
I don't know how it will trend back to having manners and thinking of others. I suppose it is possible, look at all the social media explaining how to be around trans/nonbinary/he/she/they. If there can be manners and a social construct around something that has become more common, then basic thinking of others shouldn't be too hard.
Maybe.

Closing on the new house in flyover area before Thanksgiving. No more ATVs racing down the street, "music" blasting out car and HOUSE windows, con-artist solicitors, barking dogs...

Does somebody here want to buy a 1500 sqft house for $500k in the Philly suburbs? Get an authentic Philly experience? Worth every penny if you are masochistic.
