Good computer case to buy?

Corsair made a 5000D case. I think it is a great entry to a large mid tower category. However, don't like the overly tinted black airflow glass. Wtf is up with that. Think if you are not willing to go Lian Li this might be a good option.
 
It's ok but kinda big. What's your issue with the lian li? You will be hard pressed to find a case with better air flow.
 
I find it super ugly. It is just a box with glass all over. Plus is made of steel that seems that will cut your hand (doesn’t feel refined). XL seems better (and I think is aluminum) but then it is also a massive case. I also don’t like the design of holes for airflow that seems unnecessarily restrictive.

It’s a matter of preference. On airflow, I can see that as being good on Lian Li due to sheer number of fans you can install. The Corsair 5000D seems to be trying to one up on that.
 
Maybe your 5900X wouldn't be hitting 80c if it was in that "box with glass all over" :bleh:

I love my XL and can't say enough good things about it. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close, and that's part of the reason why the case is so popular for air or custom loop builds.

I think for air cooling, you're better off with the normal 011D. The XL really shines for custom loops imo. Since I'm running a AIO for the GPU and CPU, having that extra rear fan is nice.

The 5000D does look nice. My prior case was the 750D and man, that thing lasted me YEARS. The days before tempered glass side panels were a thing, lol. I only just changed from that case towards the end of 2020.
 
Yes I asked you gays about going dynamic and you said no.
My last two cases were Corsair (650D and 760T).
If dynamic were available when I got the Phanteks I might have gone for the XL.

Maybe next time.
 
If I ever go to update my Caselabs case I'll go with something like the Lian Li V3000+ case.

Gays, I finally hit the buy button on Lian Li 011D Evo Black. If this case is not good, I will send you frozen turd packets from across the continent.
