GTX 1070 vs. RTX 2060 Super vs. Radeon 5700 XT

past for the most that is part other than NV games
and NV has the same problem with AMD games

and 3 words (geforce experience sucks) and the driver UI ( nvidia control panel ) is from like windows 3 :bleh:

AMD Adrenalin 2019 has all game management like (geforce experience) built in to one driver and better UI
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3327569/amd-radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-update.html

if AMD can beat my 2080 ti strix by just 5% to 10% I will buy one just to get rid of NV's 1990's driver UI

and the games themselves don't work on release anymore so you got a few days grace for drivers

Nv doesn't have the same problems as AMD in games. In fact NV tends to be more stable due to their routine launch day drivers for new games. Like it or not, AMD is actually behind on this.

Also, not sure why you keep bringing up Geforce Experience. It's optional software. And for those who use it for Ansel or streaming, it doesn't suck. There's no better video capture software other than the native tool Nvidia provides in GFE. But if you're like me and many others who have no use for it, don't download it.

Also I very much like NV's control panel. Simple and to the point. I don't want this to change, don't need no fancy skins or gimmicks, just quick to the point settings. It's easy to use and powerful enough that nobody needs to use tools like NV inspector anymore, which was "must have" software years ago. It was useful for changing SLI bits but even that's no longer relevent, the control panel has a myriad of SLI settings in the control panel for those still using SLI. Or people used to use it for AA bits for specific games. Again, Nvidia throws so many advanced AA options at you in the control panel itself, no need to use a 3rd party tool anymore.

There's nothing wrong with NV control panel though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And who the hell wants GeForce experience anyway.. why would I want game management or some crappy auto-detect settings. These are noob options that shouldn't be swaying your decision on a GPU.

being able to open each game settings in the driver for each game was nice the last time I used AMD Adrenalin I mostly used it for crossfire settings in each game

the only thing I use GeForce experience for is to load the new driver and tell me when a new one is out

You can do per game settings with nV control panel as well.

I use GFE for new driver notifications only as well.

Why use GFE for new driver notifications? There's uh... the intern nets n stuff.

and I could use a abacus instead of a calculator also :p

sorry I have never liked nV control panel even in windows 3

and new driver notifications is build into the Adrenalin driver

and you don't have to resign in to get on every update to driver notifications or load the new driver
…..
and it is a old myth NV drivers are more stable today with a single card

maybe with multi gpu and under old CFX like around the 7970 and older but they turned CFX around with 290x CF and newer

till they killed SLI & CFX with mantle and dx12 :(

game developers will never support it till they have to when most cards are MCM

Setting per game profiles in the CP is easy. Where's the difficulty coming from?

About that myth...nvidia has more frequent game ready drivers right at launch for pretty much every major release (and even minor ones). AMD has a slower driver release schedule. It's not just about stability, because all games are generally going to be stable regardless of driver version (provided it isn't too old). It's the performance and bug fixes as well.

Game ready drivers are a myth from both sides of the aisle.

Sometimes broken sometimes placebo. Both companies have dropped the ball in this regard.

Nvidias CP is fine. What's a crime against humanity is the lack of a proper feature rich control panel for the .1% who use linux. Won't somebody think of the pengins !__!

Also y'all clearly dont visit the Radeon software forum

Lots of driver releases posted there with day 1 and sometimes day 0 support for new games ^_^

Good to know. Microcenter has quite a few in stock, I just need to know the most reputable manufacturer :)

considering most games are released in a beta state, "game ready" ready drivers dont really matter much

i just switched to nvidia from being an amd user forever and, the grass isnt any greener on this side of the fence

most here on this side have not used a Radeon since y2k :bleh:

For me it's been since 2016. 2003 got the Radeon 9500pro, 2004 got the 9800pro....2008 HD2600pro, 2009 HD4850, and 2013 HD7850.

The radeons I had were good bang for the buck but they did have some issues with a few crashes from time to time on the earlier radeons, the HD7850 seemed fine when I used it.

The GTX 1070FE I have now has been rock solid...rockin' that since 2016, so I may be sticking with nvidia going forward.

I've had both at the same time in SLI & CFX back to 2012 and 680 SLI & 7970 CFX up till now and the 2080 ti
and both have about the same number of driver problems and new game problems

AMD only real problem is not software it is they need a card to beat the 1080 ti after 2.5 years and now the 2080 ti after 15 months

Doesn't 5700xt do that in RDR2? Lord knows how many other dx12 titles as well.
