I might have to ditch my S21 Ultra for a 12 Pro Max

Just to make it official, I love this device. I should have gone with it as a first choice. Calls to and from Mom are crystal clear all the time too and connectivity is crisper and seems faster pretty much all the time.

Apple watch 6 up next.

Wait a week and see what comes out of WWDC (keynote should be in an hour or so). If they add glucose to the series 7 that could be worth the wait unless you got pressing health issues that need monitoring now.

Sweet! Thanks :)

edit: I should get the red one. The wife would be asking "Who the heck are you?"

Just the O2 monitoring for now thankfully. I'll watch anyway though :)

Get the Dino strap with Apple Watch to make it hip.
Glad you like the device. Only people without the iPhone experience still advocate non iPhone devices.

Sometimes it's just preference...Samsung got a lot right with their latest devices. I still prefer their camera on the S21 and the android OS.

That said, everything about the latest iphone is premium, from hardware to call quality, and right now that call quality brings a lot of peace of mind.

I'm going after a conf. call this morning to pick the watch up and I can't wait to get my grubby hands on it. This fitbit I'm using has always felt like a cheap knock off of a cheap knock off lol.

Cant even compare a fitbit in terms of build quality :)

I went without an apple watch for a very long time(I didnt pick one up til earlier this year) and I never thought I needed/wanted one. I couldnt figure out where it would fit in my life to justify having it. It wasnt until I got one, reluctantly, to see how it would work for me. Enjoy the watch too

Might as well go hard and pick yourself an iPad :bleh:

And a Macbook Pro

I do absolutely love my MBP, which I can't say for iDevices.

I am  the wife is getting for my birthday lol.

My only other Apple watch was the series 2 and I never found anything that even comes close. It was a mistake moving to another brand.

But I have repented  The 6 is sitting on the seat next to me lol.

The ipad comes in August.

I bought a 2015 MBP in 2018 and loved it, wound up upgrading to a refurb 2020 last year.

We were talking this morning about Mac stuff. He has himself convinced his ipad pro can replace a mbp. It might under normal circumstances and usage, but this guy has....I think 6 iphones, 4 ipads, a Mac mini, 2 or 3 watches and an imac. Seriously, he collects Apple stuff. Several generations worth.

I'm pretty sure he'll cave and get another MBP lol.

Depending on his workload a 12inch iPad pro(the new m1 more than enough) has enough power to replace a PC if its within his scope of work. The touchpad/keyboard combo with the iPad definitely makes that viable. I personally wouldnt ever be able to do it though.

The iPad is not anything like an actual laptop. These things run the phone OS, not MacOS. I have an iPad Pro 2020 and it’s not a suitable replacement for a laptop.

An iPad would be suitable for 80% of what I use a laptop for, but that last 20% is the most important stuff I use a laptop for, which an iPad just can't do. CAD/CAM on a Mac is also difficult enough, there's not much support for it, so I have to use Parallels Desktop to run my CAD/CAM software or just use my Windows 10 desktop.

No ****, but 90% of people dont need a full working laptop anyhow. With semi-multitasking that iPadOS has they can read their emails and do their spreadsheets no problem.

Pretty much this. He's going to wind up getting the MBP because he just loves having the hardware. It's his thing, and quite frankly the guy knows Apple better than anyone else I've ever met but for some Apple software engineers.

His current hardware is divided up into his DJ group, his work group, and his personal use group which includes a lot of content creation for his wife's shows - she's a heck of a singer and does local "concerts" every weekend. He uses his ipad and software he bought for the ipad to manage all of the gear during each show.

But restricting himself...I don't think he can do it lol. I'll give him until the next iteration is released.

On this Series 6 watch - the functionality on this thing is just insane. Setup was easy as is switching bands, but I just did an EKG while setting up  I'm already enamored with it.

Apple sure has come a long way since the iphone 6 days.

I dunno. From personal experience, thinking the iPad Pro would fulfill my multi-tasking needs, it really falls short. I’m kind of stuck now because I don’t want to spend on another device after spending on the iPad. It’s stupid that they forced the iPad onto the phone OS. The Phone OS is super limiting for a device that could easily handle the full MacOS.

My main issue with the iPad Pro is that the apps are not fully functioning. I don’t like using PowerPoint, Word, etc on this iPad (and I have a Logitech Folio keyboard+case) because everything is all ****ing weird on it. The phone OS crap also makes file difficult to transfer etc for no reason what-so-ever.

I wouldn’t want to use it for Spreadsheets. I can’t stand using this thing to build small PowerPoints like I currently have to for the leadership course I’m in.

I got a bunch of people who definitely would benefit from taking away the full MacOS and giving them something simple like an iPad.

My organization is herding people towards the cloud mentality and the iPad is perfect for that. Not to mention they are infinitely easier to understand and boringly consistent(exactly what non tech savvy people need)

Nunz you are on the end of the power user but most people are nowhere near that. I know that you would like a full OS so you can do everything you want in the fashion you would like, but the average everyday worker needs to be taught in a simple way they can understand forever. And since iPadOS doesnt change they can learn that one way to do things and never have to worry about it again. Less troubleshooting, less complaining overall.

I still maintain for the power user he/she needs a full OS experience but the majority of office workers dont need anywhere near that.

I'll be getting a pro sometime soon. I'm looking forward to see the changes in iOS 15 on it, although that's still a little ways away.

I'm still a little shocked that I transitioned to iOS so easily. I'm not missing Android at all.
