I was talking post tax and ship but you can continue to believe what you want. Anything priced over 825-830 would be at the cusp of 900 bucks post taxes and shipping. Compare that to previously most purchases would end up in the 700-800 bucket. My ASUS TUF OC was about 810 or something including tax and ship. Now same card will run you 876 + 61 + 7 = 944. About 134$ increase for exact same product.

Either way tell us what you paid for your when you have one.

Well, if you include tax that wouldn't be MSRP or price of card then would it?

Nobody includes tax/shipping, because that can be different everywhere. Why am I explaining this? Oh right...talking to KAC. :bleh:
 
I never spoke about MSRP alone in my post. Thread also talks about retail prices not MSRP.

Nobody was concerned about winning anything. Stop sticking to cliche phrases to dismiss everything. Nobody uses tax/shipping when talking prices on this forum, or they'll say it to avoid confusion.
 
I come from a country where quoted price includes taxes. By law. Learn to understand what is being said rather than arguing needlessly. People can have different reference points and interpret prices differently.
 
Yeah I definitely feel your argument here is because you are both in different regions of the world.

Here in the U.S. retail price would be MSRP, before taxes/shipping costs. If I look up my RTX 3080 Ventus OC on Newegg it is still at the same price as when it launched. Looks like if memory serves, most or all the other 30 series cards are as well.

Also, I am not counting from 3rd party sellers or anything that regularly hike their prices.

He's right, it was a silly argument. But as far as I know, everyone else just points at actual MSRP, so it's not hard to see the confusion. And if he's going to take the time to grab screen photos and all that without just saying that in the first place...well then. Fine. And yes, many...if not most, of the cards are still at or very near their original MSRP. The other point I was making.

But yeah, sorry guys. I'm done. ;)
 
The ASUS cards have gone up significantly. The TUF was originally $699-729 (non-OC / OC) and they're now in the $800+ region. The STRIX went from $849 to $900+. The ZOTAC has gone up as well, which is kind of hilarious considering they're the worst built and performing card on the market.

The real shame here, is that we are watching companies literally stiff their customers in order to continue large profit margins, rather than eat the hit, all during a time where people supposedly are out of jobs and/or low on disposable income.

I blame the mining craze more than anything. The tariffs.. I'll try not to get into it, but simply put I do not agree with them. The increased money from the tariffs don't help us out as tax payers, and all it's done is making stuff I actually enjoy more expensive and inaccessible.

It's a shame all around. Greed from all angles.

Yeah, the Asus cards went up significantly. Not many of the others have followed them...yet. Sad day when they do. Most EVGA cards are still reasonably priced within original MSRP.
 
EVGA is an American company and I really, really hope they don't pass the increase in costs over to us. EVGA is a nobody in Europe; they make the large majority of their sales in the US.

I think the issue is where the cards are manufactured (China vs Taiwan). Asus and others are manufactured in China so tariffs kicked in on Jan 1.

I'm not gonna lie, I have no idea where EVGA manufactures their cards; I know they are an American company, but as many other American companies do, that doesn't necessarily mean they manufacture in the U.S.

I could probably google this, but I'd rather pull a KAC today and let someone else look it up for me :p

So far prices at EVGA's website have not gone up.
