Multiple Sony exclusives are coming to PC, Ghosts of Tsushima next

I suppose a long time ago, porting a PS exclusive was more of a headache than it was worth, because a Playstation was pretty far from PC hardware. Porting has become easier, and console exclusives like Dark Souls that made the jump to multiplatform (very) successfully have shown how the market reacts.

Having timed exclusives for one, two or even three years could be very interesting for Sony. Essentially, you'd be looking at the market of gamers with high end hardware, and that's exactly the market that wouldn't necessarily be caught in the Playstation world anyway.

Days Gone PC Edition Listed on Amazon France

"Days Gone PC edition and Persona 5 Royal PC edition might be actually happening. The two listings appeared on Amazon France, though it doesn't have any other details for the time being such a release date or pricing.

Of course, there is always a chance it may be a clerical error, but the history of Amazon France listings suggests it most likely isn't. The retailer previously leaked several game announcements such as Rise of the Tomb Raider PC, Injustice 2 PC, and most importantly Horizon Zero Dawn PC."(full article)

NOTE: Sega says Persona 5 listing for PC on Amazon France is 'an error'
"I reached out to Sega about Persona 5 Royal, who told me "That listing is an error and we’re looking into having it taken down and how it happened." (full article)

I hope it's true I want to play Days Gone but at the same time don't want to play it on the PS4.

I really hope at some point Sony puts all games on PC, even if it's a year behind PS4/5 release.

I can wait (except FF7)

Uncharted and Last of Us on PC would be amazing. Man, I really hope so.

Days gone is one I havent played yet but given the opportunity to get it on the PC I probably would.

Good news but a mistake from Sony imo, the never to be ported exclusives were a big part of a PlayStation brand.

Personally, since I don't mind to wait, I might never buy another ps again, and I had plans to buy 5 on release. Anyway, will happily put PS5 money into a gpu, long live PC the king.

I think it makes sense, if they want to attract PC gamers to buy a PS5. Offer last-gen games on PC to get people to love the IP, then dangle the sequels as PS5 exclusives... I bet a fair number of PC gamers will bite.

Demon's Souls trailer mentions a PC version

The latest trailer for Demon's Souls (link) (UPDATE - Sony removed the trailer from their official channel) mentions a PC version at the end. No word from Sony yet as to whether it's an error on their part.

Edit: Other channels still have the trailer for now

Other links to the trailer exists, says the exact same thing at the bottom.

PC MASTER RACE RISE UP AND FACE YOUR MAKER!!!!

It IS a timed exclusive so maybe they dont know if PC counts for that.

Theres so many ports to PC with this generation of games....i dont think i'll need another console (just have a switch, and its fine by me)

Putting a system seller for a PC release is quite the human error. Poor bastard won't come into work today.

i don't think sony will release Demon's souls / GOW etc. They need to keep the PS 5 exclusivity imho. That is their golden ticket to keep selling PS4/5 etc.

That is just my pov.

With the recent announcement that "a whole slate" of PS games are coming to PC this year (link), there's multiple possible reasons to give for the move, but the obvious one is: profit. As some have pointed out, Microsoft is making huge bank with their games on Steam, and Sony wants a piece of the pie.

Of course there's the PR line: "There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make." (source)

And as expected, there's a lot of people naturally going "omg bloodborne!!!omg!!omg", even though From has completely refused to do any more development on the title, including *allegedly* refusing to assist Sony with a pro patch of the game. I do hope it comes to PC, it was a masterpiece of a game and I'd love more people to be able to experience it.

I will add that the only reason this is even a consideration now, is because both Sony + Microsoft went x86 last generation.

Otherwise there would be more development costs going to PC.

You still see PS4 ports exhibit weird behaviour on PC, like high PCI bandwidth use (the PS4 doesn't have enough memory so keeps streaming stuff in order to save memory).

Yip.. Sony want a piece of the PC pie.

Remember 10 years ago, PC was the red head step child... now that red head is making them big $$$.

Noice!
