nVidia next GPU rumor thread

Bill just a few points.

1. You can't announce a launch and then don't do it and move on to the next generation. Investors get spooked you can't execute launches anymore, and share price tanks. Investors own companies not management.

2. AMD will have priced 6xx sales into next profit statement. No sales not good statement stock tanks.

3. Lisa Su announced the 6xxx series it's on her watch. Fail to deliver and she's gone. She also announced the 6xxx series would permeate down the stack aka 6700XT and below. No delivery erodes credibility.

4. What about all these 6xxx wafers AMD has ordered? TSMC want paying.

5. I don't think you can suddenly change to 5nm node production once you've agreed to 7nm for 6xxx series.

6. Phil Spencer doesn't expect console demand to reach supply until their Q4 which is April to June.

7. I ordered a 3090 on 15/12 delivered 17/12. So not vaporware although I accept your argument about AMD launching later. Never got near a 6900XT.

8. For what you paid for your 2080ti I think I got a bargain with my 3090

Same goes for Nvidia they signed a new deal with Samsung so that sounds like they are going to flesh out the 3xxx series through the stack at least. They have nothing to worry about at the moment as the 6900XT can't keep up in 4K. They don't need Lovelace they're spanking AMD up and down the stack ATM.

Forget RDNA3 it ain't coming till 2022 and then probably as an Instinct card. So are you sticking with the 2080ti for a year or so or are you going to flinch and get a LC 3090?

1 = covid 19 .

2 = they will sell as many as they can make

3 = covid 19 again and the CPU's are doing a little better

4 = all wafers AMD has ordered are going to PS5's and Xbox's and some CPU's

5 = they are already doing 5nm apple 12 has it and i am sure AMD is testing it

6 = and thats why AMD can't make GPU

7 don't care the 3090 is nuts stupid to buy for 10% over a 3080 ( that you can't get a 3080 Strix . anywhere but ebay for 1500+ ) sorry but you can open the window to let the heat out to melt the ice caps :p

8 = nope i had that for 25+ months now and all thru the virus and still working well and only 250 watts

we will know soon on January 11th when

AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su to Present at CES 2021 Virtual Keynote

https://www.techpowerup.com/275510/amd-ceo-dr-lisa-su-to-present-at-ces-2021-virtual-keynote

but they have been popping out CPU's every year and i bet they will " stay on target " for RDNA 3

I keep reading 4080 will be on Samsung 5nm

Why bother in 6 to 9 months for a new GPU. There's no need AMD are still behind the curve. Churn out the lower end parts for next 12 moths or so and all is good. I don't like the jacket but he's not stupid. Hardly any 6xxx in the channel so why rush, no point.

Bill you're in denial.

1. Covid 19 applies to both. AMD 6xxx MIA.
2. Mute point as they can't make many
3. Agree CPU's doing better but we're talking about 6xxx cards.
4. They knew what the contract was that's down to AMD.
5. What about all the wafers you, Pax and NWR told me were coming for 6xxx series. Where are they?
6. 5nm? They can't produce cards at 7nm yet
7. From memory you spent $1,500 for your strix 2080ti and I spent $1,550 for my 3090. I'm not saying it's a great upgrade from 3080 but it's more than 50% faster than your card for not much more cost. Remember I'm coming from a 5700XT which is a wow upgrade.
8. RDNA 3 you're having a laugh they haven't properly launched 6xxx series or Zen 3 yet. I couldn't get a 5600X so bought a 3800X instead. Great CPU by the way.
9. Who cares about watts? Performance or watts lets see

Hopefully on 11th January she'll apologise for this clust****** of launches. Can't see it though.

I don't think anyone planed on these feeding frenzy sales when they made these deals

in the US the PS5 managed to sell 1,389,963 units, with a similar amount (1,150,889) sold in Europe.

The second best performing console in the US was the Xbox Series X and S (988,641), followed not too far behind by the Switch (818,414).

How many guys here have a 3000 series card vs a 6000 series?

to be fair considering nV has had a ~2month head start i think you know the answer to that question

and i do have to agree with bill, outside of overpriced($2400) 3090s, 3080/3070s have been vapourware in my neck of the woods. Ive been trying to get one locally since launch

Who's fault is it that the 3080 had a ~2 month headstart though? Especially if it's vapourware, that 2 months shouldn't matter then..

The 3080 was definitely vapourware the first month, I give you that. I think things have slowly been getting better since. I see a good amount of people running 3000 series cards now. The NV cards I've at least been able to get multiple in my cart or in checkout. I haven't even seen a AMD card in stock once..

i dont care whos fault it is, acroig asked a question and i replied to it. Common sense would dictate that there are more users with a 3000 series card vs amd cards, since well they been around 2 months longer. Thats fabulous you can get multiple cards in your cart, like i said in my post tho, i can only get overpriced 3090s in my cart locally, No 3080s, no amd cards etc

If it was vapourware then no one was able to purchase them for 2 months. Maybe you need to grab a dictionary if you wanna have an attitude.

fair enough nunz, i was over the top with my vapour ware

but i encourage you to put your glasses on and re read my post and spare me your attitude if you want me to get the dictionary out

you seemed to have glossed over my neck of the woods and locally parts of the post

If I get my glasses can you toke me up please

not sure if thats a typo but sure, i just made 200g of shatter over the holidays. Know any cdn forces that can smuggle you some? Put in for a norad deployment if you can

 I don't we'll ever legalize it for the US Military. We still can't have beards for ****s sake.

Point taken Higgy, it was a light jab at Billy who a few weeks ago claimed massive Radeon stocks due to better production capacity @ TSMC vs Samsung.

In the end they were both hard to find but nV cards did trickle in rather than not stock at all for Radeon.

Amd is apparently backloading their cards, at least according to the people who should have no credibility left.
