Nvidia RTX DLSS/Ray Tracing Discussion

I'm on last generation -- RTX 280S. It's just not the performance hit but artifacts as well. Just tried playing Tomb Raider GOTYE with the filter and there were odd anomalies like halo outlines. Needs maturing!
Aww damn you Tomb Raider 2013 you were the chosen one !_!

Also oh yeah that's right probably thinking of someone else of who I know not whom.

i'm really on an entry level 4k GPU and DLSS and NIS help a lot and offers enough value so I can wait a bit and not be forced to pay a steep premium for Ampere. But if I want to enjoy more fidelity, moving forward, going to need a lot more performance. Never witnessed the market the way it is.

I get the haloing as well in the area i tested !__!

Also how the poop we supposed to take screenshots of this shiz in action so we can show how it do? MSI ab/steam/gfe all take a shot before the reshade pipeline kicks in its vtec so the shots look normal !__!

EDIT:
Fallout 4 works a treat as far as my eyes can see :3

Use nVidia's software to take the shots or record video? May take the images later in the pipe?

No dice on a screenshot with Geforce Experience at least it didn't look like it was taken to it since I didn't see the haloing in the screenshot for Tomb Raider 2013. I'll try a video when I'm not falling asleep in my chair. Barring someone coming to my rescue and telling me how it do.

Old school print screen and paste into an image editor maybe?
Ayy gai that werks a treat especially since i have dropbox jacked into my print screen button ^__^

It might be because of the fog, doesn't that reshade thingie have problems with effects like that?
IDK I was trying to mess with the thing in Rise of the Tomb Raider and Lara had a glowstick hanging off her booty and it was haloing as well. Except I think it was a shadow added by the shader cause it only showed the upper half of her body about where the glowstick was hangin. If i moved it just right it made Lara have a halo effect around her that projected out. Fiddling with intensity +% lessened the effect of the halo but looked like trash.

Yass plz

I may of judged too harshly and too quickly on the new SSRTGI filter. The performance hit is there but there are a lot of subtle differences even with the low setting or default setting. Utilizing NIS makes the setting much more useful for my limited GPU. Going to try more titles.

Just noticed this:

That's good news, been meaning to try that title!

Edit 2:

Downloading Fallout 4!

Hrmm I tried DLDSR and while performance at x2.25 DL is certainly much better than x4 DSR with similar IQ, there is still a rather large performance hit. I was hoping there would be a mode that offered similar to native performance.

Hopefully they improve on the DLDSR like they did DLSS and give us better performance with refined versions of it in future driver releases

It's very promising tech, IQ is fantastic in Hell Let Loose. I feel it just needs more scaling options and as you said hopefully more performance optimisations. I think I'm running from a fairly high native res to begin with, 3840x1600, which scales to 5120x2133 x1.78DL or 5700x2400 x2.25DL which are still rather taxing. At lower resolutions you may not see as much of a performance hit as what I'm seeing.

I tried DLDSR at 3413 X 1920 on my 1440p monitor in WD Legion with everything maxed and noticed some nice crispy IQ upgrade but the performance did drop, was still playable though.
