I really like the relic scheme and I'll sorely miss it, I can only hope that the new default is as good or better from the start or that relic comes back in some form (but I guess we'll get a dark or midnight clone first given their popularity

I have always appreciated the purity of threads and posts. Meaning no large avatars or picture filled signatures. I have seen some forums where those things really distract you from whatever is happening in the thread.
I don't care for a rep system or a variant on what we have, but I suppose more people want it than not. So, if possible, I would like a personalized option that hides the whole rep shenanigans for you (just like you don't see rep in each subforum now, but then on a per user basis).
In threads it would be fun if you could be your own thread manager. Having some elevated rights within your thread, for instance to change the title, add a poll, lock it, split it up or perhaps even delete other users their posts. It would make us the moderators of our own threads if we should choose to. I haven't made a thread recently, in years I think, but I do remember being a bit irritated if you made a thread and it was derailed after 2 posts. With elevated rights you could clean it up yourself. Such a privilege could be handed only to subscribers and revoked when abused.
For the frontpage, please keep a of list of the new content (like the news headlines we have now). I hate websites that just barf the new items left and right in big blocks, expecting me to figure out what is new.
