Recommend a movie for tonight

By the grace of God I have tonight scheduled as NOTHING! So I feel like watching a movie and I am asking for any advice before I go out to blockbuster (I really want to go see From Hell, but can't make it there tonight :( ). I'm lookin for DVD and I would appreciate some action. Already saw Phantom Menace DVD ...so any Suggs?

I seen Blow last night that was a good movie..
Also the classic Resivour Dogs(sp :o) is some good stuff..
Heat on DvD is great..Especially the cops & robbers shootout..

but i must say, one of te best movies ive seen on DVD is Saving Private Ryan. Its awsome,the best part of the DVD is the sound. The sound is fantastic, especially if you have an entertainment center. It sets the mood, hearing the bullets hitting on the back speakers, the bombs exploding, the tanks rumbling though the streets in the final scene....Man, i must say its a must see!

Mindless undiluted action: "No Escape"

A few years ago I rented a movie called "No Escape" starring Ray Liotta. It's a simple plot about a futuristic prison-island, but I was stunned that the movie makes no pretense of plot development.

Even "Total Recall" had a few female characters to suggest that the characters might at times demonstrate affectionate emotions. No Escape doesn't have a single female character to dilute the action - check for yourself at the link below. It's about two hours of unmitigated violence and action, with an antagonist reminicent of the evil genius from "Die Hard."

I quite enjoyed it actually... The final showdown towards the end of the movie culminates in such a great death scene that I rewound the tape to watch it again in slow motion.

If you haven't seen it yet, and you want to give your brain cells a rest, this is about as far from a "chick flick" as I've ever seen.

If you're into mind-benders, get "Momento". Another good one I saw recently was "Run, Lola, Run"... it's in German w/ subtitles, but it was really good.
 
Well blockbuster didn't have robocop in. Shrek doesn't get in till tuesday, So i saw the Total Recall Remaster. It was pretty good (for a dvd cleanup). :D
