Red Dead Redemption 2 (official game thread)

I've watched a ****-load of videos detailing the major and minor details this game possesses. All I can say after all this time is that Rockstar crushed this out of the ballpark! What a tremendous feat they accomplished with Red Dead Redemption 2. Glad I was around to enjoy it.
 
The trick on PS4 Pro is to hard set resolution to 1080 for this game. Despite the lower res, it actually looks MUCH better (no blurring), the console will run cooler (fan will barely kick up at all), and it will stay at a locked framerate.

I played through about 60% of the game before discovering this trick, and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I tried that early on and promptly put it right back to the higher resolution. 1080P looked awful in comparison.
 
I finely picked up this bad boy for my Xbox X to play on my HDR big screen. I had thought about waiting for the PC release but Amazon had it on sale for 37 bucks and I had some Amazon credits saved up so here I am.

I wonder if this will be another game I find myself leaning in my chair when I am playing. I have no idea why I do that, It is not like it gives a different view of the game. lol

Even if it were announced for PC today, you'd finish your run before any PC release. And whatever they do for the PC version, it won't make the Xbone version look like Tetris. So go for it.
