RX 580 Out Now

I don't know why you guys are talking and not doing. Put those cards up on ebay and get the money while you can! This kind of opportunity almost never comes along when reselling PC components. I was lucky enough to get almost all my money back when selling my 2016 Titan X(p) when I did. Every other part I've ever sold I've lost a decent percentage off the purchase price.

Because ebay is a shithole of sellers getting screwed and buyers getting off scott free from the horror stories I've read here and other places.

Also whateva whateva I do what I want.

I just got ganked for 27 bucks for a sound card i wanted to put into an older system. The mo fo took my money but never shipped it, 5 days later i ask him and replies.. I will ship it in a few days.. another 5 days goes by.. nothing.

EBAY refunded my money though. And they did it quick.

Other than that I have had decent luck on EBAY but I only use it for older parts and usually stuff that I can't get anywhere else.

Deleted a few off topic posts. I know there isn't a lot to discuss with AMD lately but start a new thread if you don't wan to discuss the RX 580. Thanks

You might as well close down this thread and the Vega thread as well because basically AMD HAVE NO GRAPHICS CARDS AVAILABLE TO BUY AT THE MOMENT. One reason is the miners have bought up all their 480/580 supply and the other is they fuc**d up with Vega. Simples. We might as well all go to the General Hardware section where AMD at least have CPU's people can buy

You missed post 66 through 71. I figured you would have seen them along with the posts I reported. I didn't want to burden you with like 6 reports at once. At least you nuked my posts :3 Please advise whether in the future I should report every offending offtopic post!?

I've been putting my ASUS rx580 through my regular gaming routine, installed 17.6.1 and it's performing admirably with zero complaints still. It seems to hang around 60c while gaming (40c over ambient) and 30c doing desktop stuff. The fan doesn't spin up until it reaches 65c so the only time I hear it is when I manually set the fanspeed.
Took a look at the store I bought mine from and all are sold out with two available through special order. Pheww.

Please report them and finish what you started ...

Really, 60C while gaming? That is pretty dam sweet.

That temp is legit.

I let MSI Afterburner do the default custom fan curve thing where it fires up when temps hit 50c it takes the fan to 50% fan speed and my temps are also around 60c. Right now sitting idle and typing this it's sitting at 38c with the fan off. If I didn't have a second monitor connected to the card it will sit idle at 28c also with the fan off. Ambient temps in my room is 73f.

I just unloaded my PowerColor Radeon 290X for more than I bought it for almost two years ago. I paid $240 for it, just unloaded it for $330. In retrospect I probably could have gotten $350, but eh, whatever. Even after fees I should come out with about $300, so a gain of $60.

These coin miners are totally nuts. A bunch of people trying to jump on the get rich quick bandwagon, which looks even more absurd when it's ten different coins instead of just one.

Overall I feel this is potentially bad for AMD though. Sure, it's good in the short run, because they sell out all their cards, but if they all go into mining rigs then their gaming market share goes down. Then developers don't optimize for their architecture. I guess the only thing maybe counteracting that is their share in gaming consoles.

Both companies will release special mining cards so both companies took action...The chipsets will be the same as gaming but no connectors and cheaper and also less power plugs..This may make the miners leave alone the graphics gaming cards with connectors..On the other hand i am curious if there will be less cards for the gaming market because you have to split the rx580 / 570 cores for gaming and crypto unless they ramped up produce more chips.
