Had an 8MB Rage 3D Pro for a while before getting my first AIW Radeon R100. That was a great card.

There was a 16MB Diamond Viper V550 mixed in there somewhere too, but nobody here would possibly care about something from nVidia. :bleh:

My god I was 17 when I joined.....im a 36 year old geezer now. I cant even imagine myself being that young on this site......

And I also remember my ATI 3d Rage Pro (renamed to Rage Pro Turbo after the DX7 drivers came out). OpenGL rendering was pretty slow and terrible on it (But it did manage to make Quake2 look 3d accelerated pretty) And Final Fantasy 7 PC videos somehow ran ultrafast until these DX7 drivers came out (which then fixed it to run normal speed). By that time I think we were onto the Rage128 era.

ATI sure knew how to make awesome 3D demos though (Rage Dawning, then Radeon's ark, whatever the Radeon 8500 3 fantasy worlds one is, etc My favorite had to be the real time rendering of that 3D musical balls + pipes animation during the R300 era.) , even if their chips/cards weren't that good until the R100 Radeons.

Yeah, good memories...

Thinking I arrived here from S3 Savage news forums makes it quite a ride. I mean, my gfx collection probably deserves to be displayed in a museum. Like myself lolol !

I miss some aspects of the old days. Like forums over chats. But I guess that's just me.

That's a good question, I'm not sure if 2003 is in or if it's only 2002 and prior

Wasn't there a server crash that required everyone to create a new account? Because I was "Sammy USMC" before this and joined long before 2002.
