Vega Owners Thread

Of course he has latest bios. Didn't help. We even read where some people installed Windows 7 and it worked just not in 10. Again older machines. Some people who loaded newer BIOS were able to solve the issue that way. Not an option for him.

Academic anyway at this point. The whole baby is out with the bath water. Ryzen incoming.

Actually going to try the latest bios before I start throwing this Ryzen together.
It's a Gigabyte GA-990FXa-UD3 rev 1.1, which doesn't have a bios later than than 10/22/2012, and a beta Bios from 2014, no description on what they are for. Many others with my board have the same issue, some later revisions of my board 4+ have a UEFI bios available, after getting that loaded, the Vega worked.

Use the Beta BIOS. Its what I am on. F2g. 970A-UD3P Rev 1.0. (Rev 2.0 sucks, high failure rate).. Anyway, the beta BIOS just adds support for the "E" FX8 series CPUs and fixes some RAM compatibility issues. Nothing more.

Tried F9 and F10e beta. Both result in a bluescreen when trying to load the AMD driver. Your board is a couple years newer, so no surprises there. Should have Ryzen up and running tonight hopefully.
