Diablo 4 - We all have PCs

To me it feels like D3 with D2 tone/story elements and MMO-like open world structure. D3 like because combat is 6 skills, fast and punchy with lots of chaos. Items have perks for skills/characters so they link with your playstyle and skill unlocks. I generally like the combat more than D3 though, trying 3 classes spending a lot of time with necro and less with druid and rogue. Not sure why, just feels better?

One thing I love about D4 is the setting and environments. I think the dark tone and mood is brilliant in a lot of areas, and most importantly the character gear looks tons better than D3. I wish D4 had more CGI cutscenes, one at the end of each ACT. Even if they were short it would help to really separate the acts. But it only has the two :(

Hit level 36 and finished up Act 2. Mostly playing lightning sorc with chain lightning and arc lash. Double up with ice shield and hydras with an extra head. Seem to do OK but the game feels the same as it was at level 5 with the first unlocks rolling in. Of course hydra and ice shield came a bit later. Now doing the mains in Act 3. Also did a stronghold at level 36 and got meh gear. Only good thing about stronghold is probably the option to not travel so much on foot.

Map is huge but very empty and repetitive. It is just not compelling. Equipment drops are also very rare. Most times when the top level drops it is worse than my current equipment or I have to give up stats like regen health etc.

Just need to fast forward through the next 3 acts. Not sure if there is a clan or some such but probably timings won’t match. Also pulled a cramp on my shoulder due to clicking all weekend.

Finished the story on this bish late last night. Still find it entertaining. Still a lot like D3 honestly with new graphics and story. But fun, my kind of game, if you get the right gear you breeze through the bosses with the lightning Sorcer. Rarely had to do a boss twice after I got barrier on a legendary amulet. I guess onto grinding:bleh:

The butcher got me hit then on respawn I couldn’t find him.

Hit level 41 and still on Act 3. Just traveling is such a chore as I am unable to get to the main quest without hitting a massive detour. Not sure why the map has this many dead ends and loops in Act 3.

Anyways, will keep playing until my shoulder falls off.

World tier 3. I can barely make it through T1 before I will likely give up on it.

You can right click the map and get a gps route. No more dead ends :)

Also, the tiers are just difficulties you can switch to like in d3. The only requirement is level, having completed the campain and doing a single dungeon. You dont have to play through multiple tiers. like in d1 and 2, or games like grim dawn.

Finished it at level 48. Once I replaced ball of lightning with Blizzard, things became significantly simpler. I give it a solid 9/10. Time to uninstall.

I wish D4 had a mechanic that would just reveal the location of all of those lilith statues in a region, it would have been kind of nice if the strongholds could act like the ubisoft towers.

So just to get this right. If I am to continue playing what can I expect? I am level 49 right now and most quests are exactly the same. Go there and find something or clear out a dungeon to find something or break into a stronghold and clear out a dungeon under the stronghold to find something.

There is no more story so not sure what is the point except better gear but the game levels up with you so I am expecting better gear only means exact same gameplay?

Is there a time where I will actually feel powerful?

Love some thoughts.

There are a lot of side quest chains that are either mini stories, or continuations of events that happened in the campaign. There is definitely more story.

Ok will try to mop up sides then.

not all of them are worth doing, maybe half the side quests are just a mix of single do a thing quests for random people, and finding random drops from an enemy that you take to someone in particular. The other half though are good chains of ten or so quests with some nice stories, and its those ones that are often tied to the main story. No way to tell them apart.

Do the dungeon that let you pick WT3 if you want better loot too, all the fun stuff is locked behind wt3+.

If I switch world tier does the story reset? Because I don't want to play the story again.
