Final Fantasy VII Remake

Downloaded and played it yesterday. Haven't really played a final fantasy since ten so the new format was odd (I'm assuming that this is how the last non turn based ones play) and have to say that I really enjoyed it. Lots of good memories of the game and seeing it in 3d with proper voice acting was a trip (though Barrett comes off as more manic than I remember)
And... It showed that the last 20+ years have all been a lie. Why didn't anyone tell me that mako is not pronounced may-ko, but rather mock-o... Most mind blowing part of the whole demo.

If i want to get this eventually (if it comes to PC or if i get a PS/Xbox int he future)
I'll wait for the entire collection...i dont want to pay for the game only to finish it like 1/3 or 1/4 way through the story. Starcraft 2 was the same way (3 parts) but i dont think it really felt like it was worth it. Since all the parts of the game is the same its going to feel like an expansion pack....
I'd have to see how the battle system works first hand, but i think i actually prefer the turn based rather than the action RPG style they went with.
The more i think about it the more i feel like i actually wanted an HD remaster and not a full on remake......

I really liked it. The real time battle system seems pretty good, need a good ammount of strategy. It's impressive how far graphics have improved. Don't know if I'll be able to wait for the PC release next year.

I'm a huge FF7 fan but I don't own any consoles at the moment and I don't want to buy a PS4 with the PS5 right around the corner. I'll wait and see if it comes out on PC and if not, then I'll pick up a PS5 when they are easy to find. I for sure plan on playing this eventually though. If I had a PS4 I would buy it on release.

It's exclusive till april 2021 so I imagine it will come to PC around that time.
The thing that stood out to me the most playing this demo was that the graphics in this game look like what I remember FFVII looking like in my head back when I first played it. I mean sure, I remember the actual graphics being blocky and stuff. But this game now is what it felt like I was playing back then.

Am I the only one bothered by the cheesey voice acting and the awful lines? It's like over the top dialogue with one lame cliche after another, nonstop. The rest of it seems decent enough, but all the little constant flourishes from the characters movements and actions is a bit odd too. I'm guessing it's from anime stuff that I never watch?
Really on the fence now, since I don't remember the original being this bad. Maybe it didn't bother me as a kid.

I couldnt tell you, but from what I heard in trailers and stuff.....its not great. Perhaps the voice acting choices SE uses just arent great to begin with.
Dialogue wise...that would depend if it was lifted straight off the original or reworked to better fit voice acting.

Yeah, I mean it's not a showstopper by any means. The overall presentation was great and I wasn't expecting the graphics to be that good. I was impressed at first then thought, that dialogue is cheesey and generic AF.
This was based off 10min or so of the 45min demo video. I haven't played it yet.
The original was actually more over the top in terms of dialog (Barret is surprisingly toned down). As far as the VA quality goes, Barret and Biggs (or maybe wedge) don’t match what I thought they would sound like, but Cloud/Jessie sure did.

In some countries, yes. Here in the US, sadly no. I needed a break from work so I took the week of the 13th off. Goons get some quality gaming in with this during my vacation.
