Jima13... Holy !@#$%^!!!!!!!!

Oh noes.. a challenger.

Im gonna try to push this 780Ti to its limits. Just bumped its voltage to 1.172V and clocks to 1,315Mhz. So far, no errors or crashes. Temps hovering around 165-170F.

anyway... I am now putting out for you guys ....

That 700K PPD is awesome!!

Every little bit helps!! Rage is now on the verge of a 6M point day! I don't think we have ever collectively folded that much in a single day!

I'm gonna add a 560ti to the mix tomorrow. Prepped the machine for it yesterday (it's running Windows Server 2008, so I'll need to pull out some Vista drivers). Providing the noise levels are tolerable (hoping so, this is one of those dual fan galaxy cards) it should be able to fold 24/7.

I just started with the old phenom 2 with 8 gb ram here and r 290 since its the secondary machine now. Am a bit worried about the heats so running medium but on all the time. Also got a hang tonight for the first time. Does it happen occasionally with F@H?

Hang on the CPU or GPU unit? I'm folding on GPU now and rarely do i get any stuck or hanged units. The only time i remember i got 'dropped' unit was when i undervolted too much the GPU can't fold the unit anymore and resulted in a fold error.

Hey there I've returned for the winter.

I built a new computer a couple months ago and I've been slowly ramping up the folding to check for stability.
I started using my GTX 1070 last week and now I'm 3rd for production on the team.

I'll probably drop off in a couple months when the weather starts getting warmer.

Enjoy my 500-600k ppd while you can :p

Thanks sir! :fold: We are all here to find the cure... and some bragging fun :D

You folding on the R290? AMD drivers are finicky when GPU folding and using the GPU for other tasks. I only GPU fold on my home desktop when I'm not using it for anything else.

Hahaha, I saw you on my threat list, good job! :D
Btw, your location is listed as San Jose, nights tend to get cold there year round, so just fold at night during summer

:fold:

I think I said this once before in recent history, but it's starting to feel like the good ol days of folding around here :-)

any particular reason mt gpu is constantly bouncing from 90 to 99%?
Just got back from PAX and before I left it was holding a steady 90%, now the bouncing.

If its Nvidia, its just an architecture thing. It spends 5-10% of its GPU clock just getting work to do cause it doesn't have a separate processor for that.

Mine bounces from 88-92%. Kepler has less on die cache so it spends more time (10-15%) of GPU clocks getting stuff to do.

Ya both on cpu and gpu and temps seem ok on cpu at 55c but up to 75c on the gpu. Could it be a gpu heat issue?

Thinking of repasting the gpu... but seems its been hotter than that before IIRC.

Temps look good. Try to GPU fold when not using the machine and see if its stable. I have had the occasional WU refuse to fold on my R9, but these are very isolated occurrences. If you are dumping WUs on the R290 and you are not using the machine for anything, then it could be instability (though your temps look good, so possibly power).

If the GPU refuses to play nice, then fold on the CPU only. Not as many point, but better than nothing :D

Ya now basically hangs after a minute or 2 of folding on the gpu. Using latest drivers. I even disabled the screen saver and am not using the old rig at all. F@H forum doesnt have much on the issue.

It seems to run fine on the cpu tho but it folds a lot less...

Running full load on cpus tho is only giving me 54c temps.

Edit: Did some reading and its simply a unit issue. Some units will not fold properly and crash rigs so the one way to fix it is to bork that unit and dl another one. So far seems to fold ok tho god knows not a whole lot... Might try moving it to heavy from medium but the heat the rig is generating is insane lol.

That's your CPU saying it wants to be OCed :D

Not sure what the issue is with your 290... PSU is really the only thing I can think of. Do you have another rig you can try that card out in?

I took a look at your stats, it appears you are not folding on a passkey. If you get one, after 10 more WUs you'll notice a large increase in your PPD.

Hopefully ya'll have enjoyed my few days absence. I got tackled by the Flu. H3N2 variety. Which my body has NEVER SEEN IN ITS LIFE.. Got it from some douche that went to Taiwan, caught it, flew home.. shared it with his church, whom my neighbor is a member of... Who then gave it to me. Yea.. It sucks.

On the positive side.. the system stayed online folding @ 100% the whole time since Wednesday with 0% downtime. On the weirder side, I looked into my CPU voltages... Turns out, my output IC is reporting 1.308V when the board's Input IC says 1.34-1.35V. (This board has 2 IC's on its VRM for the CPU) That gap is smaller when the VRMs are cool, gets bigger as they get hotter.

The 24/7 folding was very much enjoyed :D

Having the flu sucks!! Hope you are getting over it.

Seems that your sensor's accuracy fluctuates with temp. As long as everything is stable then it should be fine. Your 24/7 folding seems to suggest as such

Yea, I was just concerned with the vdroop. lol. Its actually accurate. The VRMs just increase resistance the hotter they get. Hence, voltage drop.

Gigabyte has a very unique and robust VRM design on the UD3P.

Output voltage should still be consistent though (otherwise the regulator isn't really doing its job). As long as you can fold without issue, then that's the important thing :D

Oh, its stable. It fluctuates a little bit as the CPU does its thing. I just know CPU-Z reads the CPU voltage wrong. When CPU-Z says its 1.35V, the board is really giving the CPU 1.302-1.308V. All CPU-Z is doing is reading the boards "expected" voltage. Not whats actually delivered.
