MSI GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z Performance Review

It's called business, you don't sit and wait for the competition out of respect. I guess Nvidia shouldn't be releasing ANY new cards since "out of respect" AMD is not able too.

This sums up the whole [H]thing up. He bought the card early with his own money so he can re-coop the money with clicks cause he knew he would get it out before anyone else could. I dont see what the problem is cause he didnt sign any NDA. The "reviewer community" is mad cause hes going to steal some of their clicks and thats the whole damn point of the early review. I dont even like [H] but business is business.

Im sure he weighed the pros and cons of posting it early and the pros of posting outweighed the cons especially since he is already NV blacklisted.

This is no different than anyone getting a game and reviewing it early or a phone(pixel 3 anyone?)

I take it back bro, it looks to be half way between 1080 and Ti most of the time. Sometimes it's slower than 1080, but not often.

It depends. Keep in mind that the cooler is better, so if it's being compared to a 1080 FE and it's 10% faster, then it's really about the same speed. No one at this point is buying a 1080 FE.

I'd still argue a discounted 1080 or 1080 Ti might be a better buy. However, I will admit the 2070 pricing makes more sense than the 2080. Even so, it sucks to be seeing such a miniscule performance increase in the same price bracket.

hmm cheapest 2070ti is $650cdn(the gigabyte windforce version) and $876cdn for a zotac 1080ti and $675 for a gigabyte gaming vega64

almost tempted to a order a 2070 unless i can find a cheaper 1080ti

Don't get the Gigabyte Vega 64. There have been some bad reports about the quality of that card.

If you're going to get a Vega 64 I'd highly recommend the the Sapphire Nitro+. 3 lbs of cooler means it an sink 300-400w if you stupidly push the power limit up at stock voltage, and mine only runs at 43 C once undervolted to 950mv. I had to modify the fan start speed using a registry mod, because by default it wouldn't turn on until 54 C and it kept cycling on and off between 54 and 52 C because the heatsink was so overpowered for my undervolted card.

Undervolted Vega 64 actually is a pretty good product, but it obviously depends a bit on the silicon lottery. I think AMD should really have binned these chips and sold the duds as Vega LE or something at much lower clock speed. Most decent Vega chips do not need anywhere close to 1200mv, which just wastes an extra 150w for no performance increase.

To be honest, the best buy may be a Vega 56 because once undervolted and overclocked it can probably be in the ballpark of the Vega 64/1080, while costing less than either.
