Playstation Classic Announced

I suggested the Bleem name to the maker in his twitch stream when he was wondering what to call the program, as a homage to the Bleem PC/Dreamcast emulator that sony killed back in the day.

:P

They mentioned Bleemsync on The Retro Hour Podcast this week and I thought of this post :)

This thing is powered by a USB mini port, like a old cell phone charger or I actually run it off one of the USB ports on my PS3. lol

So I tried it out this weekend for a few minutes, and really it's not bad, it's just not great. It's interesting how blurry everything looks, like they're some crazy blur filter on everything. It's not a good look. The controllers are nice, wish they were dual analog but oh well. I'm not disappointed for $29.99, but I would have been at full price. The games I tried ran well.

I said what the hell for a $20 from Best Buy yesterday. It might be a nice little emulator console if I can get my external Hard drive to work through OTG, which I have coming tomorrow. We shall see. bleemsync wasn't working with the bin/cue I stuck on there yesterday so the verdict is still out. decided to wait on the OTG connector and try messing with it some more. Definitely wouldn't have been happy paying $100 for it at release.

Got to believe there isn't much profit at $20. I see my OTG cable was delivered, will give that a go tonight. Hoping for better then I was getting from the Front USB port as I didn't get any new games added working from there.

Things are looking up, the OTG cable hooked upto a 1 TB Hard drive appears to work correctly unlike the USB stick I had hooked to the front, Now to throw a crap ton on here:D

I went ahead and got one too for $20 from BB. Ordered yesterday evening and should arrive today with their "same day" service (was way past their cutoff time of 3PM). I also ordered an OTG cable from Amazon as well as a 32GB USB3 drive. I don't plan on adding a ton of extra games, just a handful, so no need for huge space.

Really looks like the only classic console you need, with retroarch installed alongside bleemsync it does it all.

the controllers are really nice as well, standard usb hookups inside them as well, so if the cable ever dies on you easier to replace.
