Rage3dD seems as dead as a door nail.

The site just feels slow anytime you click anything. Can't click on last page of thread without going into thread and then scrolling to find last page. Meh...
 
new forums are pretty slow compared to the old ones, which is a pain. I still prefer forums to discord because it tends to have less spam. I kinda wish we could downgrade back to the old forums :(

anyway the site has been seeing less and less activity, even before the upgrade. I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth my time to come here.

Yea. I am confused on that comment too. The mobile support is 100% better on new forum. Images and videos resize correctly and navigation is fine.
 
I love Discord but the forum serves the purpose of a little longevity for your messages. Plus some topics are more ongoing and suited for forums as opposed to the scrolling nature of chat. Also, on Discord a message can sit for days unanswered or be ignored instantaneously and, if the chat is busy, be scrolled out of existence in seconds.

And then there's the tidbit that many of us have been on for 20 years, give or take.

Honestly I'd rather do all my Rage3d on the forum, but it's pretty dead here so if I want to talk to people it has to be on the Discord. Definitely loses something though, especially for the long-term discussions.
 
Thanks to discord I really only post larger newsworthy stuff here. The small stuff I usually leave there unless its a check in thread like the TV and Movie threads.

I think it's a combination of things. All of us are older now, with less free time. Things that used to fire us up, don't anymore. Off Topic used to be one BUSY place, but we had more users then, as well.
Further, some of our favorite people (or unfavorite even) who posted often were the lifeblood of the page... are gone. Either got sick of us and stormed out... or passed. That carries a little sadness to the place. We're like the VFW hall.
So, many of us who are still checking in every so often maybe tend not to be the thread starters. We are all guilty, it's like expecting someone else to do the work because someone else always has.
What if we each committed to starting one thread a week? Gets things flowing, maybe.
 
Discord is crap for discussions. Its only useful for quick specific interest matter info. Forums are still best but I'd rather have the old Rage3D forum back.

yep, that sums it up pretty good. Well, we had a bunch of cool years, so there's that.
