Seeing a bunch of dope af mini LED monitors from all brands. 4K 144Hz 10 bit (claimed) panels. Now even with HDR 1400. Colors are also good and almost no ghosting. Given all the over saturation of colors I saw in QD OLED panels and given that only one is available and does have brightness limiters etc. does it make sense to just move from 32 1440P 240 Hz to 32 4K 144 Hz or keep waiting.

This panel was supposed to be a stop gap and it’s already 2 years old. Dope af as I love it but was wondering if I can do better. My biggest worry is more the FPS tanking that will happen with this move since 3090 Ti is not really much of a 4K card for games that I play at the FPS I want. I get like 180 fps in Vanguard. With 4K it will be sub 100+ so quite the loss.

Thoughts?

Mini-LED does not honestly compete with OLED. It looks good, and the FALD is more accurate, with more zones and long story short it's just better with mini-LED... but it's still trounced by OLED. Viewsonic's latest 4k mini-led screen has over a thousand dimming zones. You know how many "dimming zones" you would get in a 4k 16:9 OLED? Over 8 million because every pixel is self lit. That's no contest.

You can adjust over saturation away, you cannot adjust the haloing and blooming away from mini-led FALD. And screw brighter, give me perfect blacks and true infinite contrast.

The issues with QD-OLED are too large, for now. The subpixel layout causes a lot of issues with text ..

I'd go with a regular OLED. Still loving my CX48.

I already have a 55 inch CX. But don’t use it as I don’t have the right setup.

Also can’t play FPS games with controller. Don’t have space to fit it on a desk with proper setup either.

Maybe I try to nab the 42 inch C2 and take my son’s PC downstairs. But I know I won’t spend much time on it if it is downstairs.

I bought the CX48 as a placeholder until the C242 came out. I've decided to just stick with the CX48 until next year and then make a decision. It's doing everything I need. The only thing I want to do is get it wall-mounted on a swivel/arm mount so that I can push it back just another 3-4inches. It'll be perfect there.

Ok I'm finally a convert to Oled tv. My LG C2 42" arrived last week and the contrast and overall IQ is great in games and movie streaming on my pc. And it does look better than my Samsung Neo Qled fald 43". The Samsung has the halos and bloom noted earlier that detract from its wonderful IQ.

I say wonderful because the Samsung brightness and IQ really make games and videos pop in amazing glory. There just one thing as I already mentioned and has been inferred earlier in the thread: the C2 looks even better. And that's despite maybe not being as bright.

I would not say no to brighter highlights on my c1, the contrast is great, but some stuff should pop more than it does on it.

I find my C1 gets plenty bright. But I'm also generally watching in a dark room. And have had more than a few times where content has made me squint because "AH! wtf why so bright" lol

Guys I know about OLEDs. Question was specifically around waiting for more QDOLED or going mini LED.

Seems gays on here want me to wait. Am cool with that. I need something that is between 32-35 inches in size. Bigger than that is too big for my desk setup upstairs which I can’t change at the moment.

IF it actually turns out to be good, the samsung NEO G7/8 could be worth looking at when it comes to 32" 4k mini-led monitors.

Had to vote for QD Oled because articles on the net lean toward it having better constrast than Mini Led. I mean we're just reading about it except for maybe one or two or zero of us who have both panels. And also if you can afford it now then experience it now or buy both and compare them that way.

They lean toward better contrast for the QD Oled without saying outright that it definitely does have better contrast than Mini Led. So we have kind of muddled reviews on the net.

Which probably led a poster over at AVSForum to joke that both the panels in the poll are the exact same panel with different names. And that eventually all forms of Oled panels and high end Leds by all manufactures will be the same panel in various sizes. And they'll change the naming of some of them to satisfy the lingering preferences of the customers. edit - sry it's an old joke.

QD-OLED and Mini-LED are completely different worlds of contrast. Mini-LED gets crushed in that department.

Fair enough. Yeah, I would wait. The Current QD-OLED are almost perfect. But if you just wait they will be better

Agreed. If my CX48 and C165 didn't have brightness limiters and a slightly lower peak overall brightness compared to non-OLED displays...it would literally be the perfect display. I have no other complaints about it.

Fine. I will wait. I really liked that ViewSonic :bleh:.
They need to make a QD-OLED 32-35 inch 16:9 144 Hz 4K w/ proper HDR. Gonna be dope af.

I just ordered the new Samsung G8 Neo 32" 4k 240hz, should be here Friday.

I know I wont get 240hz at 4k in AAA titles, obviously, but I mostly play league of legends/valorant.

I had ordered the AW3423DW, but it's just too long on back-order, and mostly playing league, the ultrawide kinda messes with camera movement.

As someone who went through 6 of the G7's, my hopes aren't high, but maybe the G8 will be decent enough. I'll almost certainly return it though.

I have 2 OLEDs in my house, and really would like one as a monitor, but even the 42"er is too big for me. I really don't understand how you guys use them.
