Wait for AMD to make its Big Navi move before you buy the Nvidia RTX 3080

Nothing to do with the time it was a worthless article based on userbench . If you're not sure why userbench is meaningless, then do yourself a favor and do some research into it (it has to do with their averages and how it's derived).

Thus, the vast online community has shunned userbench. To reach this as "valid" is, well reaching. Regardless of when posted. This should be clear as day now when compared to actual reviews, userbench was completely off the mark.

Then why did you attack Bill and not userbench? Very unbecoming. So do us a favor, stop attacking people because you don't like or trust the source they linked. It's not like he posted it in the official benchmark thread.

Also, my comment has nothing to do with his source, it was about your accusation towards Bill, so, do me a favor, don't ask me to go research something I already know, and that had nothing to do with my response. Again, very unbecoming.

Translation:. "Bill, you can only post information from sites I deem worthy"

Any one who mentions that shitty benchmark site thats been banned off the likes of /r/intel and other prominent sub reddits should get kicked in the dick. That "site" is nothing more than a troll haven for know nothing retards with a hate boner for logic.

The fact bill even gives them mention even indirectly makes me question his sexual ability.

Bill can respond for himself and doesn't need your meddling especially since it was due to you not knowing about the userbench controversy and why it's universally shunned. Others here have pointed out the userbench fallacy, you can even see it in the article comments.

Lastly, you mentioned timestamps previously so check the timestamp of the official review thread.

I am really surprised that bill is being allowed to troll so hard for so long. In the past I was handed bans for thrashing AMD (even though I was in the right). Here billy bad news has gone so far to spread misinformation that I may only need to put him on ignore from now on.

HUH?? That's you interpretation of what I said? I think you have a comprehension problem. But instead of admitting you messed up, you resort to dictating to me why I said something, with false claims.. another
I am fully aware of userbench's lack of credibility, have been for a very long time. But thanks for the laugh.

The time stamp of the official review thread 5:48am, bill's post was at 3:46am... Reviews couldn't be released till after 6am pacific time. Same time zone I live in, and my time stamps are based off of..

Even if there was more heavy moderating being done, I can only imagine the time sink it would be considering how many posts per day these new video card threads get.

I kind of wish you guys would only actually post when there's something substantial to discuss. This place gets treated more like a chat room than a message board. Who can keep up with all this.

I don’t think place or writing has changed. The moderating has gone to shite. Billy keeps posting crap and misinformation. He did the same during the 2080 Ti launch and then went ahead and bought it.

However, I remember when I thrashed Fury X and Vega 64 for their shite stats, I was banned immediately by then lovers of AMD on these forums.

It’s always a double standard with moderating and this is no different. billy can go **** himself and I doubt anyone would cry a river here with his shenanigans he has been spinning for past weeks. No thread is safe from his garbage. We already lost the rumor thread and now he is coming in destroying legitimate ones as well.

Come on guys, let's not fight. We've been able to keep a light mood in this section by making harmless jokes with each other, let's keep it that way. :)

As I'm thinking about it, I may just grab a 3080 as soon as I find one, and not bother waiting for AMD or seeing what a 3090 does (it'll never be enough to justify its price, IMO).

With AMD not having ray tracing or DLSS, it's kind of a deal killer for me. Sure, they may come up with something comparable, but likely not in the lifetime of the 3080 before the next round of cards comes out.

While Ray Tracing isn't a deal breaker for me (can take it or leave it, meh), I'd really like DLSS for 4k performance. Not many titles support it, but I'd be willing to take the chance I think.

hopefully sooner now

they may leak some now

and it's not a bad looking card for a reference

@Billy: I hope we get something more concrete from AMD sooner. Card design seems.... dated in comparison to nV's but that's personal preference.

@Over: AMD will have RT but have no clue re DLSS. Price for 3090 is not worth it in my book as you're not getting 2x performance of 3080.

because it looks like a 3 fan 2080 ti FE

it's a reference and i would only buy reference for watercooling anyway

but if it is only just 5% faster than the 3080 and less watts it would be a big win for AMD, and i think they may well do better than 5%
and yes it will have DXR

they are saying 300 watts now and was 250 so i think AMD upped the clocks a bit

Right, it does look like a 2080Ti RFE model.

I think AMD is still tweaking the clocks and power envelope.

The best thing AMD can do right now is to have a full press release for RDNA2.

In a street fight, you take every opportunity to win.
