Red Dead Redemption.

Whats not to like here? R* GTA style game in a western setting... probably the next game Im buying for my PS3.
 
Is this game coming to the master gaming race platform or do I have to settle for the ps3 or 360 version?

Same...it does look smoother in gameplay videos...Hopefully PS3 doesnt get shafted in the graphics department this time around.

Didn't really care much about this game but damn after seeing those videos.. Prolly be a day one purchase :-)

Plus I was reading a little about the multiplayer. I know mag scans are against the rules, but I am not sure if posting what was written in a mag is a problem? If it is please tell me / edit my post :bleh:



According to scans form the latest Playstation Magazine, Red Dead Redemption may have the “greatest multiplayer lobby in the history of video games.”
Apparently the lobby will be the actual wild west setting from the game.

Rockstar Network has the latest scans from Playstation Magazine describing the multiplayer lobby in Red Dead Redemption. The lobby looks like a “wild west MMORPG” where gamers can walk around and talk with NPCs and live gamers.

Here are some of the highlights from the scan:

Create a "posse" and roam freely about the map Engage in hunting wild animals, to hunting other gamers

ad hoc missions (like besieging a desert ranch filled with bandits) Gain experience points which can be used to customize appearance and upgrade horse, weapons and "title" Unlock new multiplayer modes like the standard 16-player deathmatch and team based "capture the bag"

It all sounds fantastic, and almost sounds like its similar to something that’s already out there. I think I like the bit about engaging in hunting wild animals or hunt other gamers.

About damn time someone made a good sandbox type western game.
I've been dreaming about it since I first saw The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
 
Judging from those videos it has more horrible FPS than GTA4 had on consoles. Constant hitching and FPS drops to below 20 in action. Doesn't look too good.

Yea, although some parts look a little better than GTA4.... you just get used to the hitching on consoles after awhile.:(
