Stupidly thinking about an upgrade, need advice

OK, here is the final build. Should have it assembled later today.

MSI MPG Gungnir 111M Case
SeaSonic Focus GX-750
MSI Z590 MAG Tomahawk
Intel Core i7 11700K
2x16GB Corsaire Vengeance LPX 3200 (From current setup)
1TB Intel 670p NVMe
2TB Samsung 870 EVO (From current setup)
PNY GeForce RTX 3070 XLR8 Gaming REVEL Epic-X
Nice build Shadowless.

I love Seasonic, and its probably a one off, but I'm about to RMA one of my new Focus GX-750 PSUs. Fortunately bought two and only one was in service. Had it in my newish Ryzen build for just a few months now, and the 24/7 system was off one morning and would not power on. Swapping in the other PSU and it fired right up (didn't swap any cables etc). Just an FYI that likely means nothing.

It's my first SeaSonic. I originally wanted another Tt ToughPower Grand RGB, but I couldn't justify spending $25 more.

Also if it dies, it wouldn't be the first time a high quality PSU **** the bed on me

Funny enough, I know people will think I'm trolling, but I have had THE BEST experience with Thermaltake PSUs. The only reason I didn't pull the Tt ToughPower out of my old rig is because I'm probably giving it to my SIL.

Didn't finish assembly till 8:30, then I had to rush to do initial config, install, and some quick testing before I embarked on the hour long journey of downloading Warzone so I could drop with the boys. Played till like 2:30am, installed the rest of the apps and then went to bed.

I also don't have the ARGB setup correctly for the front fans (I think I installed the connector backwards) so I gotta fix that at some point in the next few days.

Here's a pic right after I finished assembly. Not thrilled with the USB cable for the cooler, but it's too short to reach the USB header if I run it around back. Also contemplating ordering a video card brace; didn't realize how much beefier this card is than my 1080.

Thing is a ****ing monster.

looks nice sir and yeah thats why i oreded a bracket ahahhahahah too much sag, now it's straighter than kac's oh wait.. nmvd

btw what did you have before?

I thought the build itself from a cable management standpoint looked awful last night when I finished, but looking back at the pic now it's not bad. I just wish the USB3 connectors were on the bottom instead of the side as it's created a bunch of clutter right out in the open.

Yeah, the sag is real with this one

Prior to this I had a Ryzen 1700x and a MSI Armor OC GTX 1080.

Oh god msi why did you put that io stuff on the side wtttttffffff

And wtf is that power connector at the bottom of the board

I would recommend moving the CPU AIO hose off the GPU backplate. It's probably not helping the sag, and you're also transferring a lot of extra heat into the AIO water. Should be able to adjust from the CPU block and move the joint slightly upwards to get the hose off the backplate.

Huh? What are you talking about, on both counts?

Not a bad build but that sag is worse than Salma Hayek’s tits.

GPU brace will be here tomorrow.

Sag happens regardless. Also can't adjust the joint, there isn't enough room between the top VRM heatshield and the radiator. Bottom is the only way, and I can't move them.

4 week review....

Love the system, hate the case. Only redeeming qualities are the placement of the front buttons and front I/O ports, and the airflow. Everything else kinda sucks.

Your system is already outdated. When are you moving to Alder Lake? :bleh:

I purposely didn't want to get Alder Lake, I refuse to be a big.little guinea pig. Also, had I waited the 3 weeks, it would've only saved me $50. Motherboards are the same price, and Microcenter only discounted the CPU $50.

With that being said, I think this is the first time ever my CPU has been outdated after <1yr.

I am just pulling your leg man. If you are not running Cinebench every 29 seconds you should be absolutely fine with gaming. :p.
